Just saw this article: http://www.arsenal.com/news/features/20150217/top-five-arsenal-wins-at-old-trafford Our top 5 wins at Old Trafford, the really sad thing about this, is once you realise 4 out of the 5 wins, some of them stretching all the way back to 1998, were literally our last 4 wins at Old Trafford, lol, then there's one from 1990, did we beat United again at Old Trafford after 1990 and before that famous 1-0 win our 1998 double season? If not, then these 5 top wins at Old Trafford represent our last 5 wins at their ground, either way, not counting 1990, as I said the other 4 are the actual only 4 times we have beaten United at OT from 1998-present. This just makes you realise how awful our record has been up there at United.
But in fairness from 1990 to 2013 united won 13 titles Came 2nd 6 times Won cup winners cup 2 CL 2 other CL finals 5 fa cups 3 fa cup finals 3 or 4 league cups 2 or 3 runners up Those 23 years were the best in heir history...thats why your recod aint great there but it is still a win there every 4 yrs
True they are a good side, but at the same, it doesn't really excuse such a dreadful record. In many of those years we were sometimes close to United, and in some cases better than them. There were quite a few games in that period we really should have been winning. We have had some really bad losses there, we should not have ever been losing there last season, it was 3 points dropped losing at OT last year, and the last time we even played United in the cup back in 2011 which they beat us 2-0, again we should have won that game as they were playing a B side against a largely strong A Arsenal side, and we still lost comfortably against them. What's worse about our record is ok fair enough if you lose, but we look absolutely **** and clueless most of the time we go up to United, if you look at 5 or 6 of our last appearances at OT, we never even looked like threatening them, we usually look so toothless, lacking fight, and spirit when we go up there. The last somewhat good performance I remember us having at OT was in 2008, and we still lost 2-1, but at least we made a good game out of it and had a really good chance of winning, but in the end we lost our marbles (as usual) and United came out the better side.
