Hoping that Sunderland match wasnt that. Hull match will be ultra important for so many reasons. After arry resingned we immediately changed our away tactics and Bang! Will that work at Hull is a another thing. Match against Hull is a real 6-pointer or maybe even more!!!! Im really excited about that match and very confident if we win that one we will stay up.
Totally agree Igor. Its a HUUUUUGE game. C'mon uuuu rrrrr'sssss, lets start cementing a real building block towards safety!
I truly think this match will define the rest of our season. Lose and we will forever be in the mud ................ win and we can pull away with confidence and build some breathing space.
I think we are in a mini league of 6 teams until the end of the season now: Sunderland Hull QPR Villa Burnley Leicester so the Hull game is massive. With HR gone and CR in charge I think we have a very good chance of survival. Would love a win, but even a point wouldn't be the end of the world. U R'ssssssssssss
Yes, it was wonderful to chalk up our first away win of the season at Sunderland, but we mustn't run away with ourselves. Remember, as if we need reminding, that we lost eleven on the trot prior to that. Now we are expecting to win two in a row. Don't get me wrong, that would be brilliant, but let's not hang our season on it. We're on a steep learning curve but to expect them to 0 to 60 that quickly is a tall order (not being heightist) A battling performance and a well earned point wouldn't depress me, and give us heart for the trials ahead.
If things go according to the form book there should be a 4 or 5 point gap between our group of six and West Brom after the weekend so as i said above a, point away at Hull would be a great achievement and keep us in contention.
Yes, a draw with hard battling performance would be acceptable but not defeat. Defeat is not acceptable under no circumstances whatsoever............
One reason that a manager change mid-season often has a good effect is because of a change of tactics/team selection. The opposition have nothing to look at to base their own tactics on. We benefited from the novelty of our new manager's tactics and team selection at Sunderland. CR could look back and see how Sunderland play when set up in certain ways, something Poyet could not do. The fact that Sunderland did not play that well on the day also helped us. It will not be long before the opposition begin to get more in tune with CRs tactics. We need as many points as we can get as soon as possible to take advantage of this. All talk of CR being the Messiah is very premature. The proof of the pudding will come after 5 or 6 games when other managers/coaches can look back and see how he sets up the team in various situations and react accordingly.
My first away game for a very long time. I think last was Chelsea for that cup game. Four years? Maybe 5. So a loss is unthinkable please!! I hear they have Diame back. Pity.
