The Southampton story is a remarkable one against the backdrop of the finances as discussed above. When you consider that the manager and about 5 of the top players were cherry-picked by the 'big boys' - it is amazing. Apart from them though, the top 6 has been pretty much unchanged though for how many years? As COTB said earlier, it is the emotional attachment that keeps me going, everything else is dispiriting.
The Arsenal game when I was sitting in a bar in Hong Kong looking for a hotel with my Mrs dragging suitcases around wearing my Norwich shirt pissed off and tired at 2am was absolutelely magic. When Holty scored and I was munching chicken wings with a jug of Heineken I soon became the happiest man in the World. My wife was not quite so enthusiastic . The whole bar saw me going spastic and they all became Norwich fans cheering every defensive header . We ended up paying nearly £200 for 7 hours in a converted YMCA hotel but that has to be one of my best nights ever.
I get my Sky package for £51, that includes Movies, Sports, Broadband + anytime calls, which I don't think is too bad. Just play them hardball and be prepared to go without it for a couple of weeks and they will soon come crawling for your business.
thing is there is more to life than football, the darts is great coverage, plus cricket world cup, plus all the drama stuff.
If Canary player showed all Norwich games I would happily pay £150- 200 a year to watch through my TV.
We didn't! We had Villa at home in the league and Fulham away in the cup, what a waste of money that was! Really p*ssed with that.
The whole premier league/champions league set up is designed to keep the smaller clubs in their place. During our time in the PL I only aspired for top of the bottom 6. But what I resented was the obsession with staying up meant we never made a serious challenge for a cup. If Bradford can make the quarterfinals of the FA cup there is no reason why we cannot do likewise. A return to the Premiership would give us the resources to build a squad designed for a day out at Wembley. A few seasons back in the PL would also fund an extra 5-10,00 seats, which was on the board's agenda before relegation
They should do a season ticket for **** teams at about £10a week letting you watch other **** teams too streamed through the TV .
It may seem like a strange idea but I meant your own team , you may prefer to post on here but I presume you would watch your own Ignored by TV side rather than mine.
