See this is where the club can do no right in the eyes of daily mail readers and other such ignoramuses. Re Clattenburg, the club received a complaint from a black player that the ref had made a racist comment. The club investigated. Had they not, you'd have said they weren't taking racism seriously. If the player was 'crying wolf' then that's the player being a dick, not the club as a whole. Terry was found not guilty in a court of law. So stop throwing around the term 'racist' so casually. There is also a massive difference between someone making a racist remark in the heat of the moment to being a racist. Have I told or laughed at a 'racist' joke, hell yeah ( really enjoyed the post above about the Chinese restaurant!!). Do I consider myself a racist, definitely not. Debates like this are far too grown up for the likes of Shhteeeve unfortunately but doesn't stop his ignorant drivel filling up public forums.
Trying telling that to the small QPR contingent we have plaguing the board. Apparantly because we haven't hired ED-209 to systematically hunt these guys down and blow them away, Chelsea FC are sweeping it under the carpet so we can continue our racist campaign....you know, the racist campaign from the club owned by a Jew, with several black players, based in one of the most multi-cultural cities on the planet
I only said a statement needed to be made because listening to the radio coming into work this morning the suggestion was one hadn't been. I think as long as it's dealt with there's not a lot more to be said at this time. I'd just hope that they don't trip out the 'these aren't really Chelsea fans' line. Like Liverpool do about theirs every time they step out of line. You know, when they're smashing Bulgarian waiters over the head with paving slabs or snatching tickets from families at CL finals.
Well they clearly are Chelsea fans but some people are practically arguing they are racist because they are Chelsea fans, which is obviously nonsense.
I'm not having a pop. It's just some clubs casually dismiss transgressors as 'not real fans' and sweep it under the carpet. That's not happened in this case and that's good, this sort of stuff needs to be dealt with. Meatheads like this shouldn't be breathing air, let alone attaching themselves to a football club. And by default in someway representing them.
Not saying they do. However, the club just blithely dismiss them as 'not real fans' when they do and wash their hands of it. The fact is, they WERE Liverpool fans.
I'm not sure what your owner being Jewish has to do with anything. That's a religion it's not a race. Anyone can choose to be Jewish if they like.
It is interesting to note that the RS board has been extremely quiet about this incident. Just one or two posts on their rival thread. They ususally start threads on almost anything under the sun. But the Rat has put them on the backfoot. They now seem reluctant to take an overt anti racist stance. They seem to be seeking excuses for this kind of behaviour. I have no doubt that before the rat they would have come out more vocal. Now they seem to be keeping their heads down. Some like the lowest IQ RS fan here - LFC45 - tries to defend the idiots but he is only trying to wum but is too obvious and moronic.
Not in the incidents I was referring to though, no. Although that would make a nice convenient line under it for LFC no doubt. I'm surprised they didn't use it.
Anyway, where's Clark Carlisle when you need him? He's the go to man for a quote when it comes to racism. Oh **** yeah, he jumped under a truck.
Yep but when we play an italian team at home I'm always weary they might cause trouble around the ground or in town. Whether they do or dont and whether rightly or wrongly I think they are quite capable. It wont matter we're playing Milan but it's usually the Roma fans who caused trouble in the past. Ar5eholes like those on the train will fuel that perception of all english fans in just the same way. Plus these fckers actions may result in something far more serious if they come across the wrong person. Spanish btw can also be racist but never openly towards the general public. How very civilised!
