i saw 50 shades of gay.. sorry grey last night..... the missus wanted to see it but refused to go with sister.

i assume this is a romantic comedy... there was a lot of female giggling during the thing anyway <whistle>

fairly harmless is what i'd call it. i'm told the book was a lot more detailed.

oh and the casting was ****e... i found out that ok the main girl was supposed to be mousy but her college friend looked about 40 min which i found silly and then i was told the main guy wasn't right.... dunno what women wanted of course but there you go prob 4 or 5/10

harmless rom/com for a night in with the ladiesin your lives i reckon.

as for really goood movies... whats the context.... its this like entertaining or on your own? MY view is american sniper is waht i want to see but best of recent i saw was night crawler prob.. owuld one be a one time watch,

Awesome list which I will keep hold off. I've deleted what I'd seen. Now give me the top 5 in that list?

Hard to say. For me all those are top films and you can't go wrong with any of them. It depends what mood you're in and what genre you want and obviously what's good is very subjective so you might think what I recommend is dross. Obviously some are foreign so it also depends if you can be bothered reading subs. Will give you two top 5s one for those in English and one for those with subs...

    English

    1. Eastern Promises
    2. The Babadook
    3. Chronicle
    4. Margin Call
    5. Morven Callar

Honourable mentions: A Field in England, Shame, What We Do in the Shadows

Subbed (have picked a few different nationalities)

    1. Polisse
    2. Troll Hunter
    3. L'enfant den haut
    4. Uzak (Distant)
    5= A Separation / Monsieur Lazhar

Honourable mentions: In the House, Irreversible, Maria Full of Grace, Festen, Circumstance

I've got Maria Full of Grace ready to go and have seen Chronicle now that I think of it, good film. I don't mind subs so that's a good list.

Always fancied Troll Hunter but never got round to it.

Trying to get hold of a copy of Imperial Dreams at the moment it looks very good but cannot get it anywhere.

    My favourite subtitled films.

Los cronocrímenes (Timecrimes) Spanish time travel film, very eerie and atmospheric
Der Untergang (The Downfall) German WW2 movie (everyone should know about this one)
Låt den rätte komma in (Let the Right One in) Sure this has been mentioned in here before too, Swedish Vampire film.

For foreign films you can't beat Amorres Perros, Spirited Away is also very good.

I think the best foreign films of recent years are, not in any order

Let the right one in - Swedish
    Labyrinth - Spanish
    The ring - Japanese
Girl with the dragon tattoo trilogy - Swedish (I know they were made for TV, but Swedish TV is very graphic)
