I do remember for a large amount of last season a prediction league was run on the old 606. My memory says it was pretty good but it suddenly stopped about half way through the season and never re-started. If there is enough interest I wouldn't mind running another one for this season
Go for it Sheep. As long as you keep putting up the threads then we will make our predictions. Coincidentally I was only thinking this morning if Proph had any more news on Clingon - who started off the prediction league last year. I know there are still a few regulars not signed up here but of all Clingon is missed the most.
always loved the predidction league, unfortunately i was putting us down for wins in November/ December
I too very much enjoyed the prediction league and was gutted when it stopped. However, I'm more concerned for the poor chap who was so good as to run it. His name, alas, escaped me. Proph knows him and may be able to shed some light on what happened.
It was McNourdling aka Clingondrum (anagram) - one of the very best posters on 606 during my time on there. Always enjoyed our chats. Haven't heard a peep from him nor his wife who posted for him sometimes when he was ill. I know his real name was Dave and he lives in Gloucester. I believe he's known personally by a few old 606 posters. It would be real nice to hear from him again (or somebody that knows him).
Yep I miss McNoodles as well, hope all is well with him and his family. As for the prediction league, sign me up
count me in too. I loved it. But note my prediction: The prediction league won't last the season! (Is that enough incentive to make sheep make it happen?)
That's enough interest for me. I will post a new thread a couple of days before each match and will post the league table every so often. It will be three points for the correct score and a point for the right result. Should be a good place to discuss the match and should run nicely along with the Fun League the nice Canary bloke gave us
Looking forward to it already. Thanks for reminding me of McNourdling's name. I too miss hime - he was indeed an excellent poster. I do hope he's okay.
