Just saw your headline and thought, for heaven's sake, DTLW, stop jumping ahead. But you are only responding to the club :)....seems early unless they think they will sell more tickets whilst we are still 4th

What with the future £millions of telly money revenue it would be nice if us fans could have ticket prices reduced.......won't hold my breath.

Reduce prices and expansion might not be such a pipe dream!!
Look how quick tickets got snapped up for our FA cup games...affordable prices for people who normally can't warrant the expense turned up in droves.

Maybe Ralph should be informed of the following: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29624410

Sold out in normal priced Prem games though, so they know they don't have to do it for league games, which is what the season ticket is about. Not knocking the policy on the cup games though ....

I know what the season ticket is about, I've had one for more years than I wish to recall. I've been fortunate enough to be able to afford one for me and my son since he's wanted to go. But I do think its a shame that the PL is now becoming a product which the average working man with family is being priced out of.
The amount of Prem games that don't sell out certainly outweighs the ones that do. I don't know the solution (though I love Dortmund concept) but PL clubs of our ilk have to be very careful imo that their short term gain doesn't gloss over the future.

The sad thing is that it is the success that brings in the fans... usually.

Ps. you a bit edgy The Archers? I didn't even suggest or think for one minute that you didn't know what a season ticket was about?

No not edgy at all FLT, ask me Sunday morning before LFC game, might be a different matter.

Your comment: sold out normal games...which is what season ticket is about.
Its not really, season ticket holders will be there rain or shine....its getting those extra bums on seats which is key.

Ok, you misinterpreted/twisted what I put. I referred to season tickets as being for league games, not the season ticket sales being why games sold out,

Anyway, we have been selling out or close to for a lot of games, regardless of price, so they MAY be just checking out what the Interest is if considering expanding. If we are close to sell out on a lot of games now, they may view expansion necessary. You don't need to be sold out to to do that.

But isn't that what clubs want...for the club to grow because of success. Otherwise, every club would be set in aspic with the same number of fans year on year...could never grow. Unless you are born into a Saints family, there is always a point where you become a Saints fan. Let's hope that for some it is when we win the Champions' League :)

Of course Fran, I didn't word that very well. I meant to say, it is a shame that more fans don't stick with their teams during the bad times ... I was in a bit of an idealistic dream for a moment.
