So that article is proof that the Police are Thugs and liars? I could have sworn that was just the opinion (Biased at that) of the writer.

The Green Brigade are fannies in my opinion, thugs too. So is that proof or just my opinion?

It's more than his opinion it's relaying some facts from the event

The polis lied about their footage, they said they had it and would show it but didn't

They attacked the fans and there wasn't enough provocation for a single conviction, that's thuggery in my opinion

2 minor public order offences required 200 officers, police dogs and a helicopter to contain it

So now you have decided to avoid the question asked.

That article contains Zero Facts and Zero Proof of anything, and simply because a court chose not to find some the accused guilty, that in itself evidence of nothing, least of all any wrongdoing by the Police at the scene.

I tend to agree that the Police overreacted but I don't believe the writer (Nor the participants) were wide-eyed innocents abroad as they would have us believe.

I've mentioned the video footage twice, it's a fact they claimed to have some and would show it, it's a fact they haven't

The court found 2 out of 13 guilty of minor offences. Having seen the videos, the police reaction was aggressive. what the court has decided was reported as fact in the article.
The fact is the police acted aggressively only to get convictions on 2 on MINOR offences

    It's not proportionate

    It's thuggery

Can you post a copy of the Court Report where any one these statements were made by the Sheriff?

First of all just because there were 13 arrests doesn't mean there were 13 charged or trials. How many were cautioned and released?

Secondly, that article Mindlessly posted is pure fantasy. I especially liked the part where it said the Green Brigade were stopped from doing what they do every home game, walking from the Gallowgate to Celtic park. Utter ****e!

They were told they could walk to Celtic park as long as they walked along the pavement like they actually do every home game. They decided that wasn't good enough or wouldn't cause enough disruption despite being warned. So **** them.

Thirdly, the idea that the treatment the police dish out to football supporters has some how deteriorated in the years since the introduction of this new legislation is ****ing laughable. The police have always treated football fans like ****e. It's no worse now than it has ever been.

The fact that some daft ****s who call themselves ultras get more hassle than fans who dont is pretty self explanatory imo. Obviously a bit too complicated for anybody who wants to be an ultra though.

Been going to Celtic Park since 1994. Never once had a problem with the Glasgow polis.

It's the auld "fly wi the crows get shot wi the crows" idiom. <ok>

Have you never had to deal with mounted polis deciding to put their horse where you happen to be standing?

No but I had to leave my first ever cup final (95 Scottish Cup) after 15 minutes because some fanny off our bus got his foot stood on by one when he tried to pet it steamboats.

He ended up having to get surgery three times on it. <laugh>

They are innocent and have been vindicated. I know this is hard to take for some and a few may be beelin when Thursdays tifo blocks their view for 5 mins before kickoff but we can't allow people to be victimised just because you don't like them

How were they vindicated? They are innocent (for the most part), so are you trying to say anyone who is not found guilty in court is automatically vindicated?

They were accused of causing trouble, we were told we'd see proof of this. Lack of proof that was promised and their freedom seems like vindication to me

Good question, I could imagine a situation in which they would feel vindicated such as beating a more serious charge but I'm not sure if they were charged with something more serious.... My instinct tells me that they feel vindicated
