With news now that Wes Brown has just signed for Sunderland (1 million) and possibly John O'Shea about to do the same withing the next 48 hours, where does that leave our old mucka Michael Turner ? Yes he is injured at the moment but Sunderland has been a nightmare for him the past year or so. Now Duffer Duffen has gone (main reason he left before) and Sir Adam is back in charge could this happen ? even on a season long loan ? thought folks....
Not at all. Just a point of discussion. Its a point that has been brought in my local over thr past few weeks anyway as a good contact iof mine knows Turns wife. They are not happy there and he blames Sunderlands training methods for his injuries. So before you post may i suggest you engage brain. I never said it would happen, but could it ?
He's a Premier League player, he's worth at least £6/7m and there would be plenty of takers if he was available, you might as well suggest Gerard Piqué as a potential signing.
I very much doubt anyone would pay 6/7 million for Turner now. He playing record is very bad over the past year or so. He has alot to prove (fitness wise) and i will watch this situation very closely. But it was a point of debate thats all. As for Pique that was silly. Messi would have been a better example. lol.
quite frankly I live with the saying "never go back", it's usually true (except for Deano), Turner was never injured for us in the PL, now it's different, I greatly admire the guy he was possibly the best CB we ever had, but right now I'd rather have Ayala.
Would agree on the Ayala comment. Also on the going back. But for now the question will be When and If Turner returns to the form and fitness he had with Hull City. Sunderland fans are now questioning him and the arrival of Wes Brown and maybe soon John O'Shea wont help. Can you see Turner sitting on the bench ?
I've seen his comments there unless there are two ticklers, maybe he could do with the paid job writing their crap articles?
Turner played most games for Sunderland in his first season. Last season he had a lot of injury problems and missed a lot of games, but he was still played when fit and still made 16 appearances. He'll be making appearances for them again next season too.
Top class defender, should he leave Sunderland due to there signings he will have tons of options Bolton - Replace Cahill Stoke - Replace Shawcross (target for Arsenal) Blackburn - Replace Samba Fulham - Would fit in well there Just to name a few Add to that his £30k plus wages per week and transfer fee, make him very unlikely
But very true. You dont know who i know. Anyway its a good debate. Makes me laugh as Wes Brown and John O@Shea are also sick notes. As for Turner he has to prove his fitness. Sunderland is destroying Turner not helping him. No mention of England call up anymore is there.
MR Tickler, it still leaves Turner a crock but as you state, Brown and O,Shea are also known to be sick notes, so turner will stay at the SOS, as he will get a chance to play when he aint injured
I think the only people saying he could get into the England squad when he was here were the Daily Fail and a few overly-optimistic fans.
