    NP - it bears repeating.

I'm amazed how many people are telling us what a great paper NotW was for exposing corruption down the years. Balance that against the number of lives it's destroyed and it wasn't really a great paper was it?

Good. But it is not enough because The Sun still exists and what they will end up doing is make The Sun a seven day paper under the same organisation.

I will not be buying the final edition and I strongly urge everyone else to boycott it despite the media claiming it will undoubtedly become a 'collectors item'.

We also still need to voice our disapproval at the proposed BSkyB deal. We cannot allow the evil Murdoch empire to acquire this.

This is how cynical the closure of NotW is: the final edition will not carry any advertising (well, ok, but that's hardly James Murdoch's decision - only Tesco and Vodafone wanted to advertise in it) - instead its advertising space will be given over to charities. What's more, all proceeds from sales will go to charity.

Like that's in any way in keeping with the NotW's mission.

That's like putting a plaster on a shotgun wound.

I can't wait for all the inevitable lawsuits. They will be paying out a lot of compensation once the investigation is complete.

Jeremy Hunt, Rupert Murdoch, Call me Dave Cameron and Rebekah Brooks are all in this together, so don't let them off the hook. The police are also not going to come out of this looking too good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDh0Cvsw9Jk

This can't end in just compensation claims. Section 79 automatically makes Coulson and Brooks accountable (under the 'negligence' clause). They will go to jail unless their lawyers can prove they were never editors of the NotW. It may also reach as far as James Murdoch. Rupert Murdoch is a tad more difficult because he's probably not legally connected with any of his businesses.

Rupert has some weird loyalty towards Rebekah Brooks.

I reckon it's a sexual thing. Either she does the old guy favours, or it's an unrequitted desire. I have to admit she is rather attractive, and she's probably a great ****.

The criminal investigation will be done first, then if they are found guilty and held accountable the compensation claims will begin.

Ruthless ambition is sexy. I bet there are some politicians who are turned on by having to "serve" her. Cameron included, he gets to see her in a horse riding uniform.

She'd make a great dominatrix, and for all we know maybe she is.
