By saying black people wouldn't lower themselves to that level is implying that only white people would. Forgive me for interpreting your comment in that way. Nations like the UK and others in Europe are actually very welcoming to other ethnic backgrounds in comparison to other country's. The UK for example is probably the least racist country in the world, that's why we welcome everyone in. Obviously there are minority's in the UK that are racist but generally speaking most people in the UK aren't racist. There are plenty of country's that hate white people, so racism is wide spread from all ethnic backgrounds. It is not just predominantly white people, like some would have us believe.
I think the chinese are the most welcoming. In fact every time I go into my local take away they always say "ah mista tlebre you ah most wercome. Egg flied lice again" which is always nice...which is more than can be said of the lice! Disclaimer: references to misconceived stereotypes have been used in the telling of this anecdote.
If you are a white man then it's not surprising that you find Chinese people welcoming, however they aren't so welcoming to other ethnic backgrounds. Chinese people even look down on other Chinese with darker skin as they believe whiter skin has more beauty. A pretty stupid way of looking at things, but it is a belief engrained into society over there.
