If we were in the same position and playing crazy all out attack football it would be bearable.

But, in truth, the home supporters have had zero excitement this season.

Narrow wins against the likes of Leeds & Burnley just don't count.

Not to mention the system he's installing on every level of our club has been proved to fail at top level in this country with the resources available. Every level of our club Smug <yikes>

We're not scoring, not entertaining & the players looked totally confused at Bradford.

If he was so sure of his 'philosophy' he'd stick to it but he won't will he?

Welcome aboard?? First post and depresses the hell out of everybody?

    Twat shak I reckon. <grr>

If that`s Gus` style of play then it doesn`t look as if it`s going to change any time soon. If he`s capable of changing at all.

Seems to me that if Ellis decides a change is necessary, he must set his sights much higher.

He won't stick with it because he's finally realised in a season and half what PDC realised three games in following his first pre season. Conveniently for Gus, he's using us a reason for failure. Our impatience, our unwilling to give it time. <doh>

Ha! I think there's already a level of depression and hopelessness amongst the fans and this board fella. To blame this lad is like Gus blaming us. :p<laugh>

We need to give Gus the chance to show he can change, I think he can ,apart from leaving Alvarez out against QPR, which was a shocker if it was for tactical reasons, I cant see that he has done a lot wrong, injuries to key players have hindered him all season and his options have been limited. The counter argument against this is the cost of failure should he take us down, who would be a chairman.

The happy graph is certainly showing a downward trend mate that`s for sure.

Actually it`s a very good article and demonstrates that we are getting a repeat performance. I`ve no idea whether he can change or whether that`s what we`re stuck with. If it`s a blinkered mindset then I don`t see Ellis has much of an option.

The tactics at Bradford were shocking.
We were torn apart down the wings and we kept launching the ball at their centre half's head for 90 minutes.
And this was a 3rd division side.

Hmmmm - does sound horribly familiar. However, it's a shame this person didn't post again to explain how that team and approach managed to get to a play-off place that season.

I do think if we can up the tempo, field a consistent team and stop the stupid errors ( and a bit of help from a ref or 2! ) we aren't that far away. We need a presence in central midfield who can boss the game and pass - Rodwell has disappointed, Larsson works his backside off but is ineffectual - and maybe even get past the forward in to the box to pull defenses about.

He got to the play offs because he had one of the biggest budgets in the league and still failed. Says it all doesn't it

Without having a list of money spent by each team I couldn't possibly comment on your assertion, but for a club like Brighton to get to the play offs is quite an achievement - especially when you look at some of the more illustrious names in that division, that season.

The fact remains B & HA got 75 points that season so they were doing something right - it would be good to have heard the bloggers opinion on the second half of the season and whether Gus changed or the players started performing in his 'philosophy'. Up to now I think Gus and the players should be shouldering the blame in equal measure - I do wonder at some of his decisions e.g. why put 2 subs on with 5 minutes left at Bradford? Why leave Ricky on any more than 55 minutes? to name but 2 but a lot of those players need to have a long hard look at themselves and ask why can't I pass a ball and having passed it move or when a team mate has a ball why don't I move to give him an option?
