As it stands at the moment, I think it's pretty obvious the top 5 will be the same teams come the end of the season. Who finishes in what position though is anybody's guess! I've looked at everyone fixtures and come up with the following.... (I haven't a clue who will get the final play off position. To many teams to chose from, Think it will be between Doncaster, Oldham and Peterborough)

    Bristol City

    A Colchester 3
    A Doncaster 0
    H Rochdale 3
    A Leyton Orient 3
    A Crawley 1
    A Yeovil 3
    H Gillingham 3
    H Crewe 3
    H Barnsley 3
    A Oldham 1
    H Swindon 3
    A Preston 0
    A Bradford 1
    H Coventry 3
    A Chesterfield 1
    H Walsall 3

    34 Points

    MK Dons

    H Peterborough 1
    A Coventry 3
    H Chesterfield 3
    H Preston 0
    A Walsall 3
    A Oldham 1
    H Notts County 3
    H Doncaster 3
    A Swindon 1
    H Scunthorpe 3
    A Port Vale 3
    A Fleetwood 1
    H Orient 3
    A Rochdale 0
    H Yeovil 3

    31 Points

    Swindon

    H Crawley 3
    H Bradford 0
    A Crewe 3
    H Gillingham 1
    H Notts County 3
    A Port Vale 3
    A Doncaster 0
    A Colchester 3
    H MK Dons 1
    A Bristol City 0
    H Peterborough 3
    A Yeovil 3
    H Walsall 3
    A Preston 0
    H Leyton Orient 3

    29 Points

    Preston

    H Scunthorpe 3
    H Walsall 1
    A Oldham 0
    H Doncaster 1
    A MK Dons 3
    H Crewe 3
    H Peterborough 3
    A Barnsley 0
    A Fleetwood 1
    H Rochdale 3
    A Bradford 0
    H Bristol City 3
    H Gillingham 3
    A Port Vale 1
    H Swindon 3
    A Colchester 1

    29 Points

    Sheffield United

    H Coventry 3
    A Rochdale 0
    A Crawley 3
    H Peterborough 3
    H Fleetwood 1
    A Scunthorpe 1
    A Walsall 3
    H Port vale 3
    H Scunthorpe 3
    H Crewe 3
    A Barnsley 1
    H Doncaster 1
    A Oldham 3
    A Yeovil 3
    H Bradford 0
    A Leyton Orient 3
    H Chesterfield 3

    37 Points

So would leave the final table looking a little like this...

    1. Bristol City W 29 D 11 L 6 P 98
    2. MK Dons W 26 D 12 L 8 P 90
    3. Swindon W 26 D 8 L 11 P 86
    4. Sheffield United W 25 D 10 L 11 P 85
    5. Preston W 23 D 13 L 9 P 82
    6. ????????

    Thoughts?................

Looks about what I would pick in the results. You can guarantee it won't happen like that but I would say another 30 points for us will do it. 94 points would see us over the line

It will probably end up being nothing like what I've predicted <laugh> I thought it might have been a bit tighter but if we do manage to finish 8 points clear I don't think anyone can say we didn't deserve to win the league! Plus i'm really hoping Swindon don't finish top 2 and lose in the play off final!

Lose in the play off final on penalties 21-22 would not be bad enough for them in my eyes <laugh>

    I'd go for

    Bristol City
    A Colchester 3
    A Doncaster 1
    H Rochdale 1
    A Leyton Orient 3
    A Crawley 3
    A Yeovil 1
    H Gillingham 3
    H Crewe 3
    H Barnsley 3
    A Oldham 0
    H Swindon 1
    A Preston 0
    A Bradford 0
    H Coventry 3
    A Chesterfield 3
    H Walsall 3

Which would give us a total of 97 points. Screw the rest, they can eat our dust. That final points total should be enough points to be Champions

As a benchmark, usually you need 50 points to stay up- 72 to scrape but 75 to make play offs with 88 for automatics. Maybe need 90-93 this year with a strong top 3 or 4, and Sheffield cant be counted out especially as they have already played the top clubs twice-

We have 64 from 30 which is 2.1 ish points per game- 16 to go would give extra 33 and total of 97- Often teams tail off a bit but even then, a return of 1.5 points per game would still see us at 88 points.- Win our home games and draw away, as the theory goes, we should be fine, but like all City fans, wont feel comfortable until its mathematically certain!

    We're all turning into JGF.
Reckon we'll end up with 92/94 points and hope Swindon lose to Sheff Utd on the P/O Final.
    Ps
Glad that Agard scored last night, nothing was going right for him but hope his goal will help his confidence. His endeavour deserved getting on the score sheet.

The current top five should be consistent and good enough to stay there for the rest of the season.
Should we continue to gather points at just over 2 per match, we will have the title.
I believe that Sheff U will have a strong end to the season but the need to get 2.5 points per game to reach 90. Is that really achievable? Yes but unlikely?
Looking at the "Ten Match" form table of the current top Five shows City well in the lead:
    City 22/30
    Sheff U 17/30
    Swindon 16/30
    PNE 16/30
    MK 15/30

So City are looking good for the title.

We must not lose the games v Swindon and PNE.

commented elsewhere but City on schedule to get the 92 /96 points I predicted
At the moment you can say 2 places*** up for grabs..
The target is 59 points from 31 games ( come next Wed most be equal on 32 games)
City 30 /64 pts potentially have 3pts and would be 67
    swindlers 30 / 57 have 3pts would be 60
    PNE 29 / 53 have 6 pts would be 59
    sheff 29 / 48 have 6 pts would be 54 ***
    Doncaster 30 / 45 have 3 pts would be 48***
Bradford 28/41 have 9 pts would be 50***
    Oldham 30 / 43 have 3 pts would be 46
    Scunny 29 /40 have 6 pts would be 46
    Rochdale 28 / 38 have 9 pts would be 47

You have BRADFORD taking 1 pt from CITY but none from other 4, have plyd MKD
Swindon might not get much change at Doncaster
Scunny are the dark horses starting next game v PNE , having plyd CITY and Swindlers.

top 6 finish Donny 7/2 Bradford Oldham 5/1 Chestrfld Rochdale 7/1 Scunny 8/1

I'm not looking until 10 games to go - just look after our own performance
We now face 5 out of 6 games away from home.

    1) not a forgone conclusion who will be top 5
    2) Sheff, Donny and Bradford have similar chances ( based on fixtures left, Shiny only highlighted top 5 teams)
    3) Scunny are live outsiders based on fixtures and results

    4) the bookies odds on who will be in top 6. ... ... ... also Sheff is 1/6.... PNE 1/20 swindlers and MKD 1/100 CITY 1/500

Take every game as it comes...that is the mantra. Keep winning and hope/expect others to slip up at some point. Starting on Saturday.

Swindon cant believe what has happened to them. They are 7 points behind us and 6 goals behind as well. They have not had a good February so far. Ha Ha

Can I say again just how much I'm enjoying watching our lads play - not just winning but the way we play.

Not many teams who play 3 at the back get their centre halves forward in open play like we do - like I said soooooooo good to watch

COME ON REALLY ! there was good football back in the late 50's and early 60's and again when Dicks was the manager, the game has changed and todays team is very good, probably the best for at least the last decade or so
