I'm missing it. Off to a wedding down south on the friday & not sure when i'm getting back. Someone's got my pass though. Good to hear it's nearly sold out.
DD said we've sold out, Hank Scorpio not in attendance, proof if ever it was needed that we need a bigger stadium!
My uncle did as well, in the West Stand at Boothferry. I seem to remember it was against Cambridge but I'm not 100% on that, I was about 6. Good old uncles.
I agree with this. Even more so when you add in the new EPL TV deal which means the gate receipts become evermore less important in terms of income. (If went down we'd not fill extra seats anyway.) Safe Standing is the only way I think you'd see the capacity increase anytime soon.
I would be interested to see the total takings - tickets, programmes, merch, refreshements etc - for the matches vs Villa and DQPR. It would be fascinating to see the difference between a full price game with several thousand empty seats and a total sell out. Id guess the latter would be better as not many will pay on the gate at full price but then across the season with lower prices we'd have to reduce season ticket prices and that would have a big impact.
The Money from refreshments inside the ground doesn't go to City, does it? In which case knowing the details is of no interest.
I know it's outsourced but surely in any deal we get a cut of the money per sale. Dont we? If not and it's just a flat rate they pay each season then it's a stupid deal.
The money taken on the concourses goes to the SMC, but obviously that's owned by Allam and as we've seen today, he can play with the numbers any way he likes, so it does make a difference to our income. Stuff likes programme sales and takings in the members bar are the club's anyway, the Premier Club switched from being part of the SMC, to being directly billed by City for this season.
We get income from the SMC, it's Allam who decides if the SMC makes a profit or not, whatever the income, he'd still manage to make a loss.
Rugby fans reckon only some products go to SMC. For example, they reckon they get a bounce off beer sales as they claim to sell more than us, hence Mr Allam making their beer more expensive. Could be bollocks mind.
Hull City Official @HullCity SOLD-OUT: All tickets for Saturday's #BPL home game against @QPRFC have now been sold
I think that's sort of true, they keep a percentage of beer sales but nothing else from the concession stands. Allam wanted to lower the percentage, they refused, so the prices went up instead. I don't know how true it is but it would explain why there are two different prices for the two clubs.
My nephews 2 young uns had been to a couple of Rovers game so I asked if they wanted to come with me to see hull city... Youngest has missed one home game in the last 3 seasons.....oldest hàs missed 4 This season they have done 7 always ( youngest ) And 6 away ( oldest ) Like me they stand....and sing . Think they have been to 1 rugby game in the same time period I really think when they are older they will go to games . I always remember how my dad took me to city games in the 65 / 66 season etc If you can convert a young relative then you have someone to take your place when your no longer around. Very important that and all clubs need to make it easy for young uns to go to games.
