For all the pet owners new laws take effect from today- I'm not so sure reading the new enactments if they seem to have lot more 'bite' than previous legislation, though I doubt if the pond life that keep unruly and (dangerous) dogs will take any notice of it. The new laws involve CPN's, Injunctions, CBO's, etc- plus up to £20,000 fines.

    about the new laws here
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...-What-pet-owners-need-to-know-from-today.html

My family kept a dog when we lived a broad, we don't nowadays its far too much hassle - any dog owners on here? and will the new laws make any difference?

The new laws should include neutering & spaying of any dog owner that fails to clean up after their dogs.
Furthermore, they should have 'ignorant, dirty bastard dog owner' tattooed on their forehead.
Second offence they should be kneecapped with a cricket bat & be refused all access to mobility equipment. <ok>

I would limit one dog per household in urban and suburban areas...You see some people who have about six on the go which is bloody crazy..

Dog owners would have to be the most inconsiderate people on the planet, even worse than smokers, they think that because they like dogs that everyone else does, what's all that about? Their houses stink and they don't notice it, the dogs **** in the street and they walk away from it, why not just replace the ****ing stinking creature with a burglar alarm?

I have to say that most dog owners that I know are brilliant at cleaning up there mess and keeping their animals under control..Like everything else it seems to me that the minority of inconsiderate owners get a bad reputation for the majority..I'm not a dog owner myself by the way..

There's about 5% of dog owners need putting to sleep. And like you say they are a bad example to us good dog owners.
On the other hand there's about 60% of cat oweners need putting down. **** I'm going to get attacked by cat owners now.

People who get dogs 'for protection' piss me off. If you're soft as **** and need a dog to do your dirty work, do yourself a favour and keep your mouth shut and that way, you should avoid any beatings that you'd otherwise have your poor animal sort out for you.

No particular breed mate, but you'll know the type, basically this bloke but with a Staffy or a Doberman...

There's nothing wrong with Staffies and Dobermans by the way, both great dogs, but shouldn't be used to make a rat like that unapproachable.

I'd think twice about punching a human rizzla like that if he had a Doberman at his feet.

Yeah, Staffies are terrifying if you're a 60 year old woman though mate, who's out walking her Yorkie!

I can handle myself, that chav would be taking his Staffy home in a carrier bag if it tried to attack me.

I don't envisage having this issue mate, I just find it very strange that a human would buy a dog to offer some sort of protection.

These are the most common ones... I remember being aged about 15 and watching one go after a bloke who was out walking his Shar Pei in the park, the bloke just let the dog off the leash and the English bull terrier lasted about 30 seconds before it was completely lifeless. I really don't like these dogs at all.

Any dog can be made savage, it depends on how you raise them.
    It's the owners to blame.
