Players NUFC should sign: Wes Brown
Continuing on from yesterday I have added another player to my blog. This summer I think we should sign Wes Brown.
Sol Campbell will no doubt leave the club in the summer, or maybe even move into the coaching staff so that will leave us one centre defender down.

My choice to fill this position would be Wes Brown from Manchester United. Brown came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford and has been a solid squad member for the past 10 years, but has never really been a constant starter. Brown has bags of experience and could help our younger / less experienced defenders learn the game. You do not spend your entire career at Man Utd and pick up England caps if you are not quality.

could he be right? I think he could well be.

<laugh> Read the rest of the comments.

O'Shea = Decent signing, would have had him at NUFC
Brown = Crap. Stop pretending he is good. <ok>

This has turned into a right defensive battle,

Neither side will give in, there must be some Mags who think he's ok, and i know for a fact some on here are against this signing...

Read the rest of the article Syd nabbed his quote from. Everyone bar the original poster said no to signing him.

But he may do the business for you - who knows <ok>

OK player, but a **** signing when you take into account the whole situation.

O'Shea would be pretty good, depending on the contract length.

As I keep saying, when you guys sign someone who I'm genuinely impressed with, I'll say it. I'm not just here to purposely talk **** on purpose about every little thing Sunderland does, although I doubt many will believe me.

Wickham "oh what a risk way to much money unproven blah blah Dong the same....Brown blah blah blah Westwood blah blah blah Gardner one season wonder etc etc you have spent weeks on here (not supprised as we are the only NE team actually signing players) slagging off every signing we have made....oh but now O'Shea would be decent I am sure I read you saying he "would be good back up in the toons team" something similar!!

Yeah, and they're all valid reasons, are they not? I'm here to be honest, I'm not here to make you all feel happy by pointing out the positives only. When a big signing comes which I would have loved to have in our first team (and I think it will come), I'll say it.

O'Shea would be a good signing. He wouldn't get straight into our first team, but the only reason I think he'd get into yours is because the spaces are vacant now Onuoha and Mensah have gone back. That's all.

not really he was our version of big chris (or whatever his name was) if you'd read the rest of the article (3 pages) instead of cherry picking what you wanted you'd have seen the response <ok>

You do realise the article was made in March? I bumped it because loads of your lot were saying 'Youre only saying he is **** because we signed him' so I bumped it to prove a point.

At the end of the day both Sunderland & Newcastle fans will support any players our clubs sign.
Some will also say the players each club sign are ****e its just what happens as rivals.

IMO Brown & O`Shea will bring much needed experience to our side which is what we need i could not give a flying **** what the dooley lads up the road think. Both will get my full support. Just look at Scholes, Giggs, Even Alan Shearer all played well into there thirtys (Giggs still playing)
and know no one up the road thought shearer was to old to get another contract when he was 33/34 & Brown is only 31 FFS
