    |****ing hell mate, there is nothing noble about jumping into fights, something that you clearly don't have your brain wrapped around. Equally, choosing to steer clear of that kind of thing doesnt not make someone a bottler or mean they are looking for excuses not to help. Funny how the vast majority of people manage to avoid trouble at games yet you seem to have this never ending stream of hooliganism happening right in front of you <doh>

That's where you're wrong imo and the opinion of other people.

Would you intervene if a woman was being assaulted in the street or a homeless person being attacked?

I too usually manage to avoid trouble but won't turn my back on someone in need, no matter who they are.

It seems you would, which is your choice I suppose.

You haven't seen a pub full of the Darlo Casuals empty after one of their scouts tipped them off of small group of visiting vans who were about to pass by. Kicked the living **** out out them and they didn't even see it coming let alone ask for it. You need to get out more and face some realities.

That's a completely different scenario and you know it fine well, stop trolling. Hooliganism is not part of my football experience. I follow football to have a drink with mates, sing songs and support my team. As such, I have never had even the slightest issue with any opposition fan, never been sworn at, confronted or hit. Getting into that violence scene is a choice and as such I have no moral responsibility to jump in to help those who chose not to steer clear. The fact that you consider yourself a better person than anybody else because you are willing to jump into fights says a lot about your character.

Why is every one of your posts so condescending Bri, we could all post like you but it would just be an endless stream of drivel with people looking down their noses at each other. Get a grip man!

That is unbelievable..I have saw loads of people being hit for nowt and jumped in to help over the years. The last one was actually in defence of a couple of West Ham fans who were getting it off some Sunderland lads on Wearmouth Bridge...I later found out that the lads I protected had actually caused bother in a pub in town and the lads after them just wanted revenge.
I also witnessed a dad with his kid on his shoulders taking a smack in the face after a game at Boro..I put the culprit on his arse, and was told to let him go by a cop who I knew must have saw what he did..

SO as for the first one, the lads DID deserve it? Quite why you brought that up I have no idea, just undermines your point.

The second one, fair enough absolute disgrace but I've never seen it and would have to say that that is an incredibly rare event, and anyone who says otherwise is just being melodramatic.

No one asked for your blinkered opinion or asked you to humour me ..... so get ****ed if you can't debate with logic.

Whether you appear on here, or humour me, or not doesn't mean a thing.

This is a serious post that addresses both the continuing presence of old time hooligans and the onset of old age.

You obviously can't see the point of the thread so jump to your infantile conclusions.

This thread obviously isn't for the likes of you <ok>

Two hypotheticals which just won't happen.

A woman being attacked is very different to a group of lads being attacked.

She doesn't get in the situation where it would happen and god forbid it does happen I'd do what I could to stop it. I doubt I'd have the presence of mind to be turning around appealing for help.

Are you saying that ordinary sensible women are NEVER assaulted for no reason ....... statistics would definitely contradict you.

If you'd allow that to happen, without appealing to other decent people, then you'd have to be ashamed of yersel tbh.

If you'd condemn decent people who intervened then you'd be a louse imo.

The point I was making was they were doing nowt at the time, hence me jumping in to defend them..
Over the years the two worst sets of supporters I have ever come across for instigating trouble is Newcastle and Burnley fans..I am certainly not a person who looks for trouble, but have found myself involved in fights in these locations on more than one occasion after being attacked for no reason. In the case of Burnley, I once ended up with a dislocated shoulder for my troubles..

I hardly raced on as I more stroll or shuffle nowadays. No exaggeration either only making a general statement about some people can give pensioners a bad name.

Nah it's the way he is and that's fine.

He can call not wanting to get involved cowardice... It is cowardice. It's how humans have survived amongst far more physically dangerous animals since humans became humans. It's survival instinct.

Smug is happy to get involved, good for him. I'm happy not to, good for me.

No problem here as far as I'm concerned.

But that actually backed up my earlier post about not knowing the pretense of a situation. Someone may look innocent but if they are involved in football violence, even as victims, you can be pretty sure it was their own doing. I don;t know the details of your situations but walking away when trouble starts to brew and keeping your mouth shut has proved a tool that works perfectly for me every time.

It's funny that as I'm reading your posts think here we go and as usual I'm thinking as usual what a condescending tosser you are. Thinking I'll give you some of that. Me get a grip? You're having a go at me for something, calling it drivel and condersending while saying this

You're ****ing bellend. Typical snide little mag. I'm condescending cause I think you're a prick. Is that not the reason you're being condescending to others? A snide with double standards me thinks
