RistacI went to school and studied local history I remembered that Bradford was the centre of the worlds wool industry and the pioneer in the industrial revolution in the 19th century I remembered there was more Rolls Royce cars in Bradford than anywhere else along with more millionaires so to back my claim up and primarily to shut you and Glory up I have wriiten and spoken to the Telegraph and Argus explaining what the argument is about and asking them for their opinionI want to guide you onto a site I found todaywhich was titled Fuel for renewal in the FT 27 sept 2008 which certainly backs my claim upbut of course it wont to you
Me neither with you 60, I just love your spats with Glory and Ristac, if some of the lads hadn't met you at the meet ups I'd swear you were TC winding them up And its ****ing OLOF you old goat
I've no issues with 60 either. Other than the fact he types like a 2 year old with autism. I thought text talk was supposed to have ruined my generation - not his! Other than that, it's all good.
Just to let a fact get in the way of more bullshit. 19th century Bradford millionaires were not riding round in Rolls Royces and the reason is obvious. Rolls Royce didn't produce their first car until 1904. Can any one else see the problem?
Exactly my point Glory, he just contradicts himself without anyone needing proof. There may well have been an opinion that it was one of the wealthiest places but there surely cannot be records to prove this. Leeds60 stated in big bold letters FACT so I was surprised that the statement could be proven as such. My doubts were correct because 60 is vaguely remembering a school lesson and basing it on "opinion". He has now admitted to writing to the press for their "opinion" proving that at this very moment in time he has no hard facts.
Actually I dont. I am just a seeker of truth and justice, righting wrongs like an everyday superhero.
I wasn't going to ask but curiosity is killing me... Leeds60 when you write to people like the Telegraph and of course football managers do you use MS Word or something similar?
Plenty of info re bradford on the net, just go look, Seems it was the richest city in england in the 19c, Not the one with the most millionaires. Also one one of the dirtiest, Described by a german tourist in 1846,if one wants to know how a poor sinner is treated in purgatory, let him travel to bradford.
Then scumchester took over with their cotton wealth, then the scousers nicked all the dough by building the port and the canals to scumchester and leeds and becoming the point of goods entry and exit. But the millionaire mill owners were dwarfed in numbers by the commodity traders of leeds and london.
I will chat to my father in law at the weekend,he loves west yorks history. And you lot chuck yer toys back in the pram, this place is getting like ja.
