So WHAT team against Peterbro...... I HAVE STATED I AM ONLY ABOUT 90% SURE OF SC and I think Sat it went to 85% Replaces Elliot with AGARD shortly after we concede ! after which he replaces Joe with Cunningham, then Waggers for Little when we concede number 3 a minute or so later in my mind if these were to be the subs I would have done Waggers or Cunningham for Elliot and AGARD for Joe.... With Smith still playing well and scoring hard to drop him! for Agard? And JET is performing well having grasped the challenge of what we know he is capable of.. And as for SC COMMENT WE WERE BEST TEAM IN SECOND HALF... uuuuuuuuuuummm that's hard to swallow! Same starters as Sat.........
If I have any doubts about SC it's : 1 - He even picks Wagstaff among the subs. 2 - SC reminded me of a certain GJ with his post match comments.
Sorry JGF but do you really believe that JET performed well on Saturday? Lost the ball in tackles so many times, I lost count!
BJA my managerial skills are not football player focused, but... 1-1 and a point is like playing a stalemate at chess... to be fair I thought they were out playing us after the hour so we basically needed to hold our own we replace a mid fielder with a forward, so now have 2 forwards and lacking a good midfielder who helps to supply and defend and we lose, I thought, a bit of composure with an unbalanced side and consequently lost a goal, did he realise this to late? and brought on Cunningham to restore a bit of balance? OK 2-1 down, about 15 mins left time for an equaliser and winner! then upsets the balance again in my opinion by putting on Waggers, and we promptly concede another at 2-1 we could play a reasonably balanced side and maybe get a point back... 3 subs does not mean we use 3 As for JET well people always see the bad if they don't particularly like the player, or "has a history" agree just an average game for him, but will he man up, say "I didn't do well today, come on POSH LETS SORT YOU OUT!"
He went to win the game & I applaud SC for that, it is what he has been doing all season, its working, just look at the league table. Sheff.Utd. should be praised for the way they took their chance, City will win more games than they lose, with this approach.
BJA are you saying that you would send a gun to the front line, and weakening your defence and not having enough ammo for it to function fully! then supply more ammo when you have lost more of the battle! ? not saying its wrong to go for a win, but at least do it in an logical order YES FOR TRYING TO WIN IT SORRY FOR NOT THINKING IT OUT
We need some reinforcements,i hope this don't bite us on the ass. Two strikers required when smith goes back. I hope he has them lined up.
I thought JET played ok, wasn't at the top of his game, but credit the opposition for that as much as anything- I didn't think too many of ours were on their game either- We had ONE shot on target, which tells its own story. Smith wasn't given enough service, so again, credit Sheff U. Brayford had a blinder at the back- Taking Elliott off, for me was a mistake- He had been creative, but once he went, we were exposed in midfield. I guessed that JET would drop back to form the head of a diamond, not sure but that's for SC to choose and decide. Agard is returning to fitness and needs game time, but Saturdays situation probably wasn't the right time- Pack would have probably been a better answer. Little for me looked slow especially for Sheffields 2nd goal and Wagstaff was probably a like for like swap, as was Bryan for Cunningham- I would make 2 or 3 changes on Tuesday to freshen things up a bit. Tavernier and Saville perhaps, and maybe Pack from the start.
Lot of you think we need some reinforcements, especially with a couple of players not yet back to full fitness and with Matt leaving in a couple of weeks. My question is what options are available to us with new/loan players coming in at this late stage of the season? The bench is starting to look a little thin and when I see MK Dons have just brought a player in on loan (youth loan?) it makes me wonder why we haven't taken some kind of proactive action to mitigate the potential shortcomings. P.S. See you at Wembley.
Have to put faith in SC Mike......He's played a blinder so far, so I'm certain he will be on top of the situation and will know that failure from this position isn't an option.
Come on, we had a bad day at the office against a very good side........I'm not sure there is any need to panic....of course I maybe eating my words tonight!
2 of our 3 previous defeats were against teams at the top POSH is only 1 win away from top 6 so are basically a top team! 2 seems to be our favourite number 2 consequetive losses, first time we have been beat by 2 goals Sat and 2 is the favourite number we score! hopefully 2 features tonight, 2 wins against Posh....lol and 2 FOR SC gets the TEAM RIGHT and the SUBBING!
I think SC is the best manager we have had in a long time and we must trust that he has a handle on things and a win tonight will go a long way to showing his footballing skills.
I agree Inver but admit I was a little disappointed with his post match interview. God forbid, but it reminded me of GJ.
