Unfortunately not. Eriksen tends to pop up on those lists quite often, though. Not something that's traditionally expected of a player like him, but the list's dominated by attackers.
For some reason I was under the impression Martin Atkinson was referee for our COC final. Seems it is going to be Anthony Taylor.
Milos Veljkovic has been ruled out for the rest of this season after dislocating his shoulder. The poor lad has worked so hard over the past months to get his chance in the FL and now this setback. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.
We appear to have hired a new media relations manager in Jonny Davies, previously of Leyton Orient, based on comments that Davies made on his own Twitter.
I posted last week after England should have beaten Wales by more that someone's in for a thrashing and that Italy should not be in the 6 nations. 47-10 and the match isn't over.
Bad day for van der Vaart. Booked and subbed off just before the hour, as Hamburg were smashed 8-0 by Bayern.
Found it strange (and wrong) that in recent years the draw for the next round of the FA cup happens before the current round has been completed. Fair enough if you're waiting on replays, but now it happens before the last game or two has even kicked off (like tonight's match). Just doesn't seem right!
The club announces that Phase One of the new stadium is complete: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/club-announcement-160215/ Things remaining on the to-do list: * Rid the area of Arseway Steel once and for all * Build the stadium
One thing I really dislike, is being told which club has which numbered ball before the draw is made. Takes away some of the tension of the occasion in my view.
And how about playing the semi-finals at Wembley. Doesn't that reduce the "magic" of the final? Firstly Wembley is probably in the wrong place anyway - as much a carry over from where the old Wembley was as anything else, and as much as I would prefer a London location I've got to say it's not as accessible as say, somewhere near the NEC Birmingham. Secondly as has been mentioned before, the place cost an absolute fortune and is perhaps as much the reason for playing all these other matches there, because they need to bring in the money (which had consequent knock on problems for the national training centre not being built until later etc). Thirdly Wembley cost significantly more than, say, the Millennium Stadium but how much better is it exactly? Doesn't have a closing roof and not much more capacity. It has that arch thing - so what. For a start if that was an American stadium they would have incorporated some kind of lift / ride into the arch, otherwise just preserve the Twin Towers - which were said couldn't be preserved by which of course they meant that they didn't want to spend the money it would cost. With enough money anything is possible.
Whenever I've been to the new Wembley with Spurs for the finals and semis in recent years, the atmosphere has been amazing which that alone makes for a good day out in my opinion (better of course if we win!). Seats were quite spacious too which is always a bonus. It is a ****er to get too and from though, I only live in Edmonton which isn't a million miles away and yet it takes a good hour and half at least on the trains.
Wasn't 91 the first time that happened pre the Wembley makeover? NLD semi at Wembley was worthy of the place, but should be an exception, when the game is say a huge derby or Utd v Pool, not just the standard location.
I find the journey to Wembley is best broken up by a stop off at a pub on the way. Think it was Finchley Road I stopped off at last time, walked 20 yards to the closest pub and got some beers in with a load of Spurs fans before hopping back on the tube for the last couple of stops. Most journeys in London seem better when you stop off at a pub on the way, to be honest You get tickets for the final, I take it? Bloody expiring loyalty points cost me, I figured it would be lower but I only applied for a friend of mine anyway so no big loss.
I also thought the cut off point would be much lower. There seems to be some controversy over the185 cut off as some are saying the club have taken around 2000 for themselves.
