I bought a huge wooden crate full of jubilee clips for £5. There must have been well over 500 different sized clips which I sold from £1 each down to 40p. And I put a door and a bit of wire mesh on the front of the crate and got £40 for it as a rabbit hutch.

Unfortunately it isn't worth taking out of your sock drawer. I have several of these that I use as table mats. They are all genuine, just like the ones I have by that other bloke Monet, total cack, all blurred.

Then, of course, there is another way of looking at this.

You would expect to see some age in the piece, but not necessarily great age, as it isn't really old, is it?
It does not have to be suffering the hardships of a life, a life of being exposed to all manner of pollutants - some folk actually do look after their stuff.
You could look at the shiny staples and conclude they are a giveaway of youth and forgery; then again you might surmise that an original, in a reasonable condition, has been repaired in a somewhat amateurish manner.
You might wonder why someone would go to such lengths to create a forgery with those so-called obvious imperfections, when the monetary return is really not so great.
The person you bought it from might not have considered all of the above and missed a trick.

I'm sure we all look forward to the next exciting episode in this mystery.

From what I can find online he started selling pieces in the late 1950's and apparently is still painting now at the age of 91 so it doesnt have to be very old really. Most of his recent stuff I can find online use a lot of bright colors. Mine resembles this "older" painting of his. My no knowledge of painters says that artists go through phases, so I would guess that it falls closer in time frame to whatever time frame the second painting was made.

    Recent one.

My ex-wife was like that! I was well rid of her.
Found the 'perfect match' with the "Child-Bride" though.

Lucky man...at my age if I found a "child -bride" they'd probably put me away !
My eyes are pretty bad, and the pics in your signature very small, but correct me if I'm wrong, that picture after Carter must be Waggy ? It almost looks like he's trying to head the ball. He once told me, of all the goals he ever scored, and that was a fair few, he could count all of his headed goals on his hand ! Funny that, 'cos his (auto)biography has a picture of him heading the ball goal-wards too.

Yes, it was a great action shot of him which was well used.
I met the "Child Bride" when I was 42 - she being 19. Nobody thought it would last but here we are 33 years later still together and celebrated our silver wedding last year. When we first started dating her friends said that she would wake up every morning with 'old age' creeping up on her.<laugh>
    they weren't wrong!

Probably shouldn't suggest this TigerRoo....but why don't you donate one of your masterpieces to AA with a warning that it will self destruct if Hull City's name ever changes.
I presume the workings are electric rather than "clockwork" ?
My nephew, who lives in Melbourne, has mentioned the Richmond Tigers a few times...think he's been invited on business junkets, but he can't get into the game (he's a City fan, naturally). I quite enjoy the game, but it's rarely shown over here.
The lead singer from Midnight Oil always reminds me, looks-wise, of one of the big Oz Rules big stars...but I forget his name.

    Good man...let me think 42-19 = 23.
    In my case, today, 68-23 = 45.
I could live with that....so long as she's got her own yacht.

This is Peter Garrett mate. He left Midnight Oil to pursue a career in politics where he became a front bencher. After seeing his performances with Midnight Oil he was dubbed the "Minister for Silly Walks' which he took in good spirit.
On an ironic twist we have had a Basketball team here for decades under the name of Melbourne Tigers. The supporters are up in arms (but still supporting) as their official name has been changed to Melbourne United.
I too cannot get into Aussie Rules but have supported Hawthorn (The Hawks) since arriving here in 1967 (they were close to bottom in those days and I brought my 'support the underdog' heritage with me) rather than the Richmond Tigers who were the current Premiers. Hawthorn have become a 'powerhouse' since then and have won the Premiership many times including 'back-to-back' in 2012-2013 ans 2013-2014.
