Glad that they are fairly close so that I don't look too daft with my choice. Schindlers List deserves a mention.
Das Boot is 12x a better film for a start. Downfall Platoon Dear Hunter Apocolype Now A Bridge too Far Schindlers List Ice Cold in Alex Full Metal Jacket Great Escape Enemy at the gates All quiet on the western front Saving Private Ryan The Pianist Battle of Britain All miles ahead imo.
I left a comment about Das Boot and Schindlers list. I just love the pure brutality of Black Hawk and feel that it depicts modern warfare really well, Full Metal Jacket of course is another that stands out. There are films in that list that I agree are worth arguing but Enemy at the Gate is pretty average and one that may cause a few arguments is The Deer Hunter, boring and overrated imo. I added Apocolypse into another category but also rate the Redux as a better.

He knows how to but just doesn't want to, which is sad really because books are ( nearly) always better than the film.
Shut your pie hole, saved you from getting the piss taken out of you earlier by this lot on here as I'd corrected your post to say Gran Torino instead of Gran Turismo!
