Western - Back to the Future Part III <laugh>

Technically a Western I suppose, but really not the best that genre has to offer. More a Sci-fi movie against a Western Backdrop.
Tombstone, El Dorado, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, hell even Young Guns :)

Suppose I should put mine up as I started this thread:-

    1. Western - The Searchers or High Noon, great Sunday afternoon fare in the 60's/70's
    2. War - Has to be Saving Private Ryan for the beach landing scenes at the start
    2. Scifi - Bladerunner
    4. Thriller/detective/police - The Departed, Jack Nicholson is superb as the main gangster. Never seen the Japanese original.
5.Kids film - Narnia, because I read all the books as a kid
6.Romantic -Gone With The Wind, to be honest I don't watch that many romantic films so it was this or "Swedish Night Nurses On Dope"
7 Best adaption of a novel (can be any category) - To Kill A Mocking Bird, Gregory Peck is brilliant as Atticus Finch
8 Horror - The Ring, the original Japanese version, (very creepy), not the crappy Hollywood remake.
9 Comedy - Life of Brian, originally watched it with two Italian girls who were shocked, but killed themselves laughing, which made it all the more amusing
    10. Cartoon - Fritz the Cat, probably showing my age there.

Difficult to say and narrow it down to one each (or even to think of one for each)

    1. Western - Once Upon a Time in the West
    2. War - Saving Private Ryan (mainly cause it lead to Band of Brothers which is the greatest War dramatisation)
    2. Scifi - Bladerunner
    4. Thriller/detective/police - Se7en or La Confidential
5.Kids film - Nightmare before Christmas
6.Romantic - Princess Bride (thats a Romantic film right?)
7 Best adaption of a novel (can be any category) - Books are always better, but I'd guess Godfather (anyone read it?)
8 Horror - Alien (or if you want a 'proper' Horror film, Event Horizon)
9 Comedy - Life of Brian
    10. Cartoon - Akira

Hang on a minute you picked Black Hawk Down!

I'd rate Black Hawk Down over any other war film, just brilliant imo. I like Platoon though but would pick quite a few over it. Saving private Ryan was **** though don't get the love for that one.
