Interesting to hear that. Very stubborn manager. His system doesn't really work as he wants and then he reverts to long ball. Valencia at wing back? Still you keep getting results.
Nah he made one first half but it was the right idea. Just didnt look up. Two all game though. Class.
I only say it bcos you're spot on. Look at what's happened. He's started Herrera and put Rooney further forward and we've created more in this game than our previous 5. We go a goal behind and he takes off Falcao and brings on Young to bring on the pace we all know is needed. It all shows he KNOWS the players that will win us games but chooses not to play them. Herrera and Mata score and assist for us every time they start. Bet both are on the bench against Swansea on the weekend despite today. The best we can hope for is Young will start but that's not enough. I think of Fergie and I see Van Gaal and I stick by my opinion of him, he's a coward. If he changes then my opinion of him will also change tbh but atm he is underachieving with the players at his disposal
Pretty abysmal performance, but we won. Only improvement on last season is we are winning games, but the style is downright boring
Sure sure. Perhaps I should watch more Liverpool games thusly allowing my eyes to be dazzled by silky football.
As soon as they scored Preston was going to be defeated. United were putting everyone to sleep until then but speeded up when they conceded. Why can't United bloody play like the last 30 minutes the whole match?
You were playing a team with a combined transfer fee on £0 and are currently in League 1 about 35 places below United
Bog standard 442 did the trick. Good last half hour after a dull first hour. Good sub to bring Young on for Falcao too. Gave us another runner. Di Maria seems to be picking up a little confidence. Running at players more and morr and trying more than just crossing from deep.
I think the pace of the English game has surprised him. It's scared him imo. That's why he sets up the same way whether we're playing Preston or Liverpool. I really think that is what it all comes down to.
No idea. Whatever it is though its somehow working right now. I sense a change though. The last few games has seen him switch to a normal 442 and its paid off.
