Have 2 free tickets to give away to the Military Gold Cup at sandown on Friday 6th March. Got given them with my Racing Uk membership. I can't go due to work, have a meeting with a very big potential client that day and cant move it plus I already have the cheltenham week off and likewise my friends. So thought I would offer them out to you lot. They are free so anyone interested let me know and I will post them out to you.

I can imagine Sir Barney Chuckles jumping at this opportunity .................. nothing he likes better than mixing it with military types who fawn at royalty <ok>

Very generous of you to offer the tickets here Woolly <ok>

Would love to pop along to meet a few Houghton-Bassets or Smythe-Forlocks but can't get the time off work old boy.

Cor blimey apart from having to listen to an Ed Milliband speech I couldn’t imagine anything worse than having to attend this day at Sandown Park. I bet the old brass band will be playing ‘God save our gracious Queen’ every other minute and it will be choc full of the most minor of minor Royals. Whilst those military types will be queuing up to be patronised by them whilst having a shiny medal pinned on their lapel.

As for the races themselves they will take ages to be run as the military jockeys have to get off at half way and do some ‘marching and saluting’. No way can they last the full distance without breaking off for some of their favourite activity.

Not often I find myself simultaneously paired with Woolly and Barney, but it's happened today.

Like Woolly, I've got two RUK comps for Sandown on Grand Military day but - like Barney - wild horses wouldn't drag me there: the sight of unfit amateurs pushing slow horses up the Sandown hill while their molls shriek 'Come ON, Rupert' holds no attraction. On a point of military-rank curiosity, does anyone know why poor old Jody Sole is still a lance-jack after all these years ? As I recall the Artillery in years gone by, you didn't have to be a genius to get to full bombardier......

So if anyone wants the tickets, PM me and leave an address - I'll treat you to the postage. Rather you than me.
