There's one thing protesting and moaning about Mike and Derek.. but violence is wrong on every level, it really is.

Derek Llambias attacked in Glasgow bar – Reports
Reports this morning claim Derek Llambias has been attacked in a Glasgow bar.

    Yesterday by Jim Robertson

There are claims that Derek Llambias has been attacked in a Glasgow bar.

The incident is reported to have happened earlier this week when the Rangers Chief Executive was sitting alone in a city centre bar.

The Sunday People say that Llambias was approached by an irate Rangers fan with a lot of shouting at first, which then progressed into ‘pushing and shoving’.

The People report that according to a ‘source close to Llambias’, that this is now the second time that such an incident has occurred between a Rangers fan and Llambias in a Glasgow hotel bar.

    The Sunday People source/sauce added the following;

“Neither Derek (Llambias) nor Mike Ashley can understand why there is hostility to the new set-up at Rangers.

“They want to rebuild Rangers into a strong and exciting team capable of challenging Celtic again and being a force in Europe again but it must be on the back of a strong financial position similar to the one they implemented at Newcastle United.”

Call me Mr Cynical but those quotes very much strike me that this bears all the hallmarks of a planted story, part of a desperate PR campaign by Ashley and his allies to fight off the efforts of opposing shareholders to get rid of the entire board at a special meeting in early March.

Friday night brought the latest mass demonstrations by Rangers fans against Mike Ashley and his allies, including Derek Llambias.

The story could be genuine. Sadly this is the sort of thing that happens regularly in Glasgow where Rangers or Celtic are involved.

I disagree, If i saw Derek or Mike in a bar after a couple of beers, there wouldnt be any warning, I would order a stein and place that round either of their heads screaming toon army. its the least they deserve. Vile human beings the pair of them, I accept id get arrested, but I would do the stretch without regret.

TBF to rangers though, i respect their protests and I think they have more chance of getting rid of Ashley then we ever have.

Rangers fans will probably get rid since they can buy shares. We don't have any shares to buy. Having said that, we generally just sit and do nothing anyway. Up there, someone messes with them they don't let it go.

They can't understand the hostility, really ? I reckon the Rangers fans have seen what Ashley and. Co have done to NUFC in the name of progress and despite there precarious state still want non of it.
That said violence serves nothing and is never the answer

I struggle to see how everyone is so content with Newcastle, Dont worry M.A is working towards 50m + profit per year and he will give you absolute tripe to watch every week with a thin bare squad, but these Geordie Mugs will turn up come rain or shine and hand over their hand working cash to me! What more has he got to do, honestly, I think if he publicy made a statement calling all Geordies idiots the ground would still be near capacity. Its a joke, we are a joke and we have let it happen for the last 7 years and it will continue for the next 7 years. pointless season after pointless season, no cup comps, no big transfer fees, no exitement, nothing, maybe a few 1-0 wins, then lose 7 on the trott. we should change our name to "Sports Direct 14th place united"

Even if we did change our name, we still wouldnt be able to organise a decent protest, or keep fans from lining MA's pockets.

I know most people dont want to give up, but its not giving up, its 6 months of empty ground, standing outside for 90 minutes. Not giving in, forcing his hand. Sponsor would soon cancel contracts, the media pressure would be immense. but one can only dream

"Progressed into pushing and shoving " not exactly a major story.

At least Pardew learned how to give a Glasgow Kiss in case MA made him go to Rangers -although Pards foresaw this plot and ran off to London instead.

Depends if this is pushing and shoving in a Jakarta type way. I'd imagine anal rippage is painful, Nev beware. The beast from the east will love you long time.

I don't believe this story for a moment. It has all the makings of Ashley's PR department trying to smear the opposition. They are clearly running scared.

Just keep frequenting the Glasgow night clubs, Llambias. You'll get a deserved battering eventually.

I feel sorry for Derek, he doesn't deserve any of this vile abuse he's been subjected too.
Rangers fans should their heads in shame.

After all the thieving, conniving, fraudsters and other nefarious characters they have had at Rangers in recent years, they should be THANKFUL that someone as likeable and cuddly as Mike is trying to help them out.

Maybe they should try tickling Mike and Derek's tummies instead of all this pushing and shoving lark...they might find it helps them a bit and its bloody good therapy.

Not sure how much truth is in this but right now Rangers are in the proper poo. yes we hate him, yes he's clearly identified that he can make some good coin out of Rangers but to do that in Scotland they have got to be back challanging...exactly what the fans want. If you ask me he will do well for them. It's a different situation from us. Mid table mediocrity would be pointless. plus if he gets them up there then hopefully he will decide to chip off out of Newcastle

    This is an important point.
Ashley is a kernt and I want him out.... but for Rangers he is a massive improvement on the fiddling bastards who screwed their club royally.

Apparently local police say they have absolutely no knowledge of any attack or verbal assault.
I see the EGM has had to be moved again foillowing yet another hotel banning them and therefore the EGM will take place at Ibrox. Love to be a fly on the wall at that one.
