I reckon N'doye will do one aswell. Iv'e watched the Villa game too many times probably. I can't think i've ever seen a better debut. If he keeps that up, he'll be wanted. There was so much to like.

Come to think of it he may of scored on his second debut at home to York.

Again, if we stay up there is no chance of top larkers leaving; are you telling me that Allam (mercenary twat that he is) will take a few million on Diame and Dame, against the rise in 2016/17 TV rights? Dream on, we'll strengthen not weaken and Allam, even with lack of football interest, knows the biggest KPI is goals for.

I think a new first keeper would be good.
As far as strikers go, I really believe that there is much more to come from Hernandez. He has obviously been displaced by N'doye following an impressive debut but his chance will come and for what it's worth , I think he played well and with great energy when he came on last week.
Having said all that, it would be surprising if there was only one summer recruit., ie, a new keeper, so for me the most obvious spot is maybe another centre half.
My thinking there,is that up front we have our obvious current first two choices with back up from Hernandez, aluko and Ramirez. In central midfield we Thudd, Livermore, Ramirez, Meyler and Quinn. That's not say of-course that Meyler or Quinn can't be replaced. I think we're OK down the left and right, particularly when Snodgrass is back on deck.
I am a huge fan of McShane and liking Alex Bruce more and more but even if they continue current form and MacGuire continues to improve, Dawsons fitness is always suspect and Davies current form speaks for itself, so Centrehalf is the position for me (along with keeper), that is most in need of strengthening.

He was good, but not the best player. I said at the time he was being over-hyped a bit and that Tom Ince lad at Blackpool is better.

I know I sound like a broken record but talk like this after ONE GAME is mental. There were so many people on here basically ****ting themselves into a frenzy that Sagbo's £5m release clause would mean we were subjected to daylight robbery as his stunning early performances made him a world beater.

    Seriously, it happened.

I can understand people's want for a new keeper but lets face it. For all McGregor's critics the only times I've ever seen him struggle is free kicks outside the box on target. Whilst this may be a concern to most he's by far a better keeper than we are likely to get without spending top money (especially considering we paid 1.5m for Greggsy). He's a good shot stopper, commands his box well (far better than Myhill ever did) and is our best keeper at the club. I can understand some criticism but christ he's done a lot to save this club some valuable points

Before Sherwood arrived I would have had Villa nailed on to go down, now not so sure. Sunderland look rocky but might survive. Therefore perm 3 from Leicester Burnley, QPR and us. Though by the look of the form guide Swansea look as if they might get a wobble on.

Speaking of Sunlan, this is pretty accurate as far as I can see (although poorly written):

    http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...s-time-to-say-goodbye-to-sunderland-1-7109580

The Wickham situation is mental, a mega long deal (was it 5 or 4 years?) based on about 6 good games over the previous 3 years and then never playing him. He also has made some really ****e signings in positions they didnt need and then had a go at the fans for wanting - shock, horror - shots on goal rather than the Emeperor's New Clothes of Tiki-Taka.

I never said he was good! Did you actually read my post?

Believe it or not and apply hindsight as much as you want but there were more than a few on here seriously panicking about his £5 release after Sagbo's first few games.

It was actually his last few games, around November/December when he started looking real handy winning challenges, keeping the ball and causing a nuisance, then aLong came Jelly (coat) and he hardly played again.

The worry that his £5m release clause would be triggered was warranted at the time.

there is a lot of talk regarding strikers we have 3 great players in the attacking dept just need them to settle and have a good long injury free run. as for back ups there is Aluko and Ince, no one has mentioned Ince in this thread. we have a very capable Hull City AFC squad from the very top with SB going down to the number 22 in the first team, we just need that jelling attribute and I think that Mike Phelan could well be what we have been missing. we have been the most unluckiest team in the prem this season , with injuries, surely we cannot repeat that next term. UTT just get those 3 points come Saturday and we can start to look upwards again.

Yes i know it happened. N'doy isn't Sagbo though. To be fair,i do think it's too early to judge, but why not allow me to get excited about him ? I think his performance was exceptional for a debut, not only for us,but his debut in a country he'd only been in for four days.

I'll be dissapointed if he doesn't live up to my expectations, but that won't affect his game will it ? I mean there's no danger in me thinking he's going to shine for us ? N'doy showed us some exciting things he has in his arsenal. Work rate, intelligence, tracking back and one thing in particular, his lightning quick reactions for both the assist, and the goal.

I think he's going to be great for us, but if he's ****, it won't be because iv'e said these things....

And that's precisely my point. Now people would snap any club's hand off who took him for free.

I wouldn't describe Sagbo as a poor signing by any means. He did very well for us at the start of last season, but we moved on to bigger things (Jela & Long). From what Jackett said at Wolves, he wasn't anywhere near match fit but as we saw against Brighton in the Cup last year he looked incredible dangerous at Championship level.

Whether we gt a fee for him is difficult to judge, I'd expect him to go back to France in the top tier. He served his purpose with us and was well worth the small fee we paid for him.

It's also all well and good saying we need another centre half or midfielder. At the back we have Bruce, Davies, McShane, Maguire, Chester & Dawson, unless someone leaves I don't think we'll be bringing anyone in. It's a similar situation in midfield. Huddlestone, Diame, Snodgrass, Livermore, Meyler and Quinn. I'd like to see Meyler leave but I wouldn't replace him as we have better options when they're fit.

Can I just set something straight here that needs pointing out every so often?

Snodgrass is a right winger. Nothing but a right winger. Not a left winger, behind the striker type and definitely not a central midfielder.

He plays **** anywhere other than his favoured right wing.
