he should also remind the BBC that the club is up for sale and it will be the new owners who decide what the ticket price will be - no doubt with extra money being available the sale will be put on hold and we'll get more name change **** instead
Whether the demand is there at the current prices is kinda irrelevant. Because the fact is there are far more benefits from reducing prices to a sensible price then the extra few million gained from the current prices.
For crying out ****ing loud, he wanted something for nothing, and he didn't get it ! You all know that's true. He holds a grudge of biblical proportions, because he didn't get what he wanted. A football stadium for free ! If that was a reasonable request, then maybe CTWD should consider begging the council for the same favour ? Allam has delusions of grandeur, he sees himself as having 'God' like status, and like a child, he struggles to understand why he can't get his own way, so he reacts with tantrums and anger. If or when Ehab takes over the family business, he will honour his fathers wishes, whether he believes in this ridiculous agenda or not. I reckon Quinn should get a game v the dramas...
We actually took 7219 fans to that Villa cup tie. That was a great turn out considering we were 9 points adrift at the bottom of the fourth division. Before we played Villa, who were top of the Premier League, I and a few hundred other City fanatics had seen us lose three goals to two at Shrewsbury Town. Yes there may had been a few daytrippers at Villa Park but we still had strong support in those days. Remember that was the season when around 18000 unofficially were packed onto the decaying Boothferry Park terraces against Scarborough. You are also misleading regarding Middlesbrough. Yes that town is smaller than Hull, but they do have a very large catchment area when you bring large parts of North Yorkshire and the whole of Teeside into it. Also they are not competing against RL up there, and Middlesbrough, in football terms, have always been historically bigger than Hull City. Saying all that I do remember going up to Ayresome Park in the mid 1980s against Hull City in the old division two when there were barely 4500 home fans in the ground.
Ticket prices will never be reduced as long as we are in the Premier League. How many supporters we get to games means nothing if we get relegated. The fact is that we need the increased tv money as a club, but as supporters all it does is drive wage demands up and make rich men richer.
We have as many in our catchment area as the Smoggies.Been to Boro in the 1970s with less than 2 coachfuls on more than one occasion. Same at Sunderland, 2 coaches. Only 11,000 in Roker Park. Mind you they brought a load down here and gave everyone a chasing. That was season they went on to win FACup. Also the season we last had a crowd of over 30,000 for an home game. 32,000 against West Ham the week after we had got 9,000 for a 6-2 win over Preston. Even then Cup games pulled more in, we had 13,000 for the replay in the Cup against Stockport County.
Ours are well priced overall. imo. Can think of many other clubs who need to act first. Our home game with the dramas on saturday (£16) is cheaper than many teams this weekend in all the pro- leagues. Good stuff by the club.
