Probably because the mods don't want to appear overzealous, especially given the title. I wouldn't want to mod here and they have my respect for taking the job on. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.

Bloody outrageous thread with some disgraceful posts that embarrass only the individual posting them. Enough said but damaging for the forum, imagine a first time visitor?! They won't be back!

Queens, either lay off the booze or go to school. Your writing is atrocious. You have never striked me as dumb, but writing in this state you come across as not very smart. Sorry, only mean well, help yourself.

Fair comment Col............. just didn't want to appear to single out any one individual to get across my exasperation.

Felt a general "FFS" would be better given the circumstances. :emoticon-0100-smile

Having just read this thread i find it remarkable that a grown man of any colour can believe that being a 'minority' member means that he/she cannot themselves be a racist.

Anybody of any race or religion can be a racist and i find it pitiable and also quite offensive that in certain posts here practically the whole white race , which includes me, are being labelled as racists.

When you are in a racial minority and you and / or those around are continally racially abused, racism becomes very obvious to you even when it is only slightly hidden in innuendo. Racism is everywhere, and just because the actual words used maybe no "proof" of racism, doesn't mean it is not there. I think it is totally wrong to ban someone permanently on here who has felt racist abuse but cannot provide the specific racial abuse in words. Racism is far more nasty than in blatant abuse.

    than that.

I agree with you completely but there is a flip side to that. Some people start to see it when it's not there at all.

Imaz was banned because he made an unsubstantiated accusation of racism against one individual. He also stated that the whole Paris thread was racist. I can accept that Imaz, as a Muslim (again I am making the assumption that he is indeed a Muslim), may well have felt that there was a significant anti-Islamic thrust to the thread, but that does not make it racist. Islam is not a race, it is a religion, and the Paris thread was started in reaction to atrocities committed in the name of that religion. Racism is abhorrent and illogical. I cannot understand discrimination against people based on the colour of their skin, the place of their birth, or their sexuality. No one gets a choice in these things. They do, however, get to choose whether or not to follow a religion and I reserve the right to be critical of their religion.

And equally it can be that there's no "proof" because there's no racism. Racism is not "everywhere", but is still a problem. But it works both ways and it doesn't help when those who are, or perceive themselves to be, in a minority, take offence and see racism when there is none there. Some people see racism in everything and that is very unhelpful imo.

A lot of people do look for racism in anything.
Far more white people are shot dead in America than black people by the police. It is only headline news though if some black criminal is shot.
Too me, this means that white lives do not matter so much.
That is just my opinion though and I am sure that most will disagree with me.

Yes, of course we all mistake things sometimes. But my point was that not providing proof of perceived rasism is hardly a crime for me. Equally though no one should be calling someone else a racist without a very good basis for it.
