Did Danny Simpson not know that fella was right footed ? I like Danny as a player, but a piss poor bit of defending that.

Well Mr Pearson you well and truly fooked up today, sorry to say it but Villa are a bad side
and we made them look good very disappointed and don't give me the crap ( well we can now concentrate
on the league) we could and should have got a result today! but NP you have to many favourites and it
cost us any hope for this season.

Poor performance today, world's apart from Tuesday match and possibly the worst showing of the season. Even so, we hit the post and should have had a penalty.

James and Krammy did well (GREAT goal by the way), but Simpson and Mahrez, so good on the right against Arsenal on tues, were poor today. Cambiasso gave the ball way too much (we weren't playing against a big club) and I'm sure Schlupp is Dyer in disguise. The defence didn't adjust quickly enough after we went to a back four, so perhaps it's best we don't try that again. Morgan should have come off instead of Wassa, and the second Villa goal is obviously going to continue the debate around Hamer.

Disappointing and let's be thankful that wasn't a league performance or result.

No point playing three CB's with not an ounce of pace between them, Morgan should have sat that one out in favour of Moore for five at the back although I believe we should have set up more positively for this match.
Huth must come in for Morgan for the next match and I have to say that I like Nuge to come in and link up play for Kramaric and Ulloa.
Hamer is a must for me, he looked like he was gaining confidence not only between the posts but with his defence too before being dropped.
If you set up to play on the break you need players that can get from one end of the pitch to the other and back quickly in numbers.....and we just don't have the legs for that in Pearsons line up.
And, as I have been since the 12/13 season, I am remain consistantly confused by Pearsons selection and substitutions.....
Our possession stats for the whole season are league one and embarrassing!
Hard to find a positive at the moment apart from James' performance and Krammys goal.......... Disappointed. :((

That performance said everything we need to know about the management. Having watched WBA last night against West Ham and seen how organised they were from a defending point of view - men marked, opponents not allowed to turn nor given 5 yards to get a cross in - and yet still able to attack quickly with flair, and then seeing how poor we are in the same areas is depressing. WBA looked to be in real trouble 6 weeks ago but now Tony Pulis has obviously worked them hard but in return he's given them a real chance to survive in The Prem and they are playing with self belief. Compare that with us. We are still making the same mistakes, the same players are still making them and as a consequence we are firmly at the bottom of the league and self belief today looked in very short supply.

We have midfielders and defenders who ball watch and forget to see where the man they are marking has gone. Morgan was often left in 10 yards of space defending nothing today because he has no awareness of what's going on around him. And when he has the ball it's like he's playing on ice! But was Pearson ever going to take him off? Not a chance!

Mahrez was totally out of sorts today and utterly ineffective. Was Pearson ever going to take him off and put Albrighton on? Again, not a chance! And why? We were all watching the same game. Actually it does make me wonder whether Mahrez has the stomach for a relegation dogfight. He is great when things are going right and he has a bit of space to work in, but when it comes to defending he is too lightweight and too easily brushed aside. I don't think he actually made or won a single tackle today.

Truth be told I felt a bit sorry for Schwarzer today. He mostly did everything right except for that lapse for their second goal. But the fact is, he shouldn't even be starting. But we all know why he is.

Having heard all the hype of how Pearson still has the players very much behind him, how he wanted to use the FA Cup run to galvanise the side and give them confidence, I was expecting something a bit special today. I was expecting passion and desire, a lot of high tempo pressing and forcing Villa onto the back foot. But it just didn't happen. Apart from Matty James we had nothing in midfield. Kramaric was isolated, nobody seemed that interested in supporting him. And we played 3 centre halves against a team that has scored 12 league goals all season! When we play against Man City I would not be surprised to see us playing with no defenders and with a rush-goalie.

I am so angry really angry about today, you have a new unproven manager seating in the stands going down for a half time team talk
and he makes NP look a t**t, I have not been so angry since we started the home game against Stoke with our main strike force of
Nugent and Vardy! I think we should let jobber pick the team till the end of the season, he could not do any f**king worse than the team selections
we get now! need to go and take my chill pill.

What i think we learnt today:

    Schwarzer cant start again

Simpson is 'ok' but i think RDL may be pushing to get back in.

Morgan has to go. Been given a chance but has to be dropped. Huth has to come back in anyway and any 2 of Upson, Was or Moore can sit next to him. I do think that Moore could flourish on the right side of a back 3 but he does appear to be out in the cold a bit.

Konch and Upson are ok. Wasilewski wont let you down

We need to form partnerships. Keep cambiasso and james as the partnership.

Mahrez was **** but he is one of our best. Schlupp is very good.

Kramaric is good. With a partner he is better but if we play 5-4-1 even if he is isolated i feel more confident in him than any others - particularly when a more on form mahrez is also a goal threat.

It seems the fans know what team to play but the management doesn't! It's so frustrating.

    Just abject today.
We weren't up for it and that's not good enough.

All it took was a big of geeing up at half time and Villa came out to win it.

Such a massive opportunity for a possible Wembley day out too. Huge shame and I hope the players get their arse kicked in training for it.

Only positive is that Kramaric scored again and looks too good for us. One of the headers of the season, for sure.

Utter rubbish. Never got started, just ambled along against a very poor Villa team. Another performance that highlights Pearsons shortcomings as a manager.

I don“t want to have a moan, I just hope we can keep most of this team together IF we go down. Hamer & Albrighton in for the next game. Surely.
    Nice AK40 got another.

Albrighton in for the next game..... Something most fans having been saying for weeks.Stubborn Pearson won't pick him for whatever reason.
So he decides to pick 3 central defender and 1 up front against a poor Villa side that have been having extreme difficulties in finding the back of the net. We should have started with 2'up front and had a real,go at them.
So annoyed. We played with no width and our ball retention was embarrassing
Pearson spoke of our missed chances in the first half? I don't recall any other than Givens wonder save from James shot.
Starting to want this season to end.

Really? I don't think that's true. One fan complained on Radio Leicester because Vardy didn't start! The guy's got one goal. People are calling for Albrighton, but instead of whom? Surely not Mahrez? Schlupp's our second highest goalscorer.

I feel for Schwarzer, because I think he's had some bad luck (topped by today's second Villa goal) but apart from the three incidents that all led to goals (I'm still not sure how much blame should be apportioned to him for any of those incidents) he's not done too much wrong. Neither did Hamer in truth - but let's be clear, we're not losing matches because of the keeper. Today we were let down by some of the fan favourites, particularly Mahrez.

Morgan I think most fans would drop, but not surprised he played today with the back five system (as Huth was cup tied). The test will be when we goes back to a back four because, frankly, I put him as fourth pick at CB right now.

Regarding the system, I'm not surprised he tried it again considering how successful it was against the Gunners, but that worked because Arsenal playing expansive football, and we attacked often on the break. Villa didn't attack in force or numbers in the first half (which you could argue the manager should have foreseen - Villa are no Arsenal) and it was only when we switch to 4-4-2 that we conceded. So defensively, the 5-4-1 DID work - but I don't think we were ever going to score! We didn't cope when the extra defender was removed (Morgan and Upson looked disorganised, but the two have never played together as a two) - it was a gamble to swap Wasa for Ulloa and it didn't pay off. I would use the system again in future, in matches against the bigger clubs, I have a feeling it will be utilised against Everton - personally, I like to see Ulloa and Krammy given the chance to build a partnership, but we may have to wait a little longer for that, as Pearson does like to endure with things longer than the average fan would like.

I agree, that's why I said it was possibly the worst performance of the season. I'm not trying to dress anything up, you said you could only remember one first half chance, so I pointed out another couple for you.
