Its no question that Mignolet has had his struggles at LFC and just weeks ago many people had given up on him and were desperate for a replacement to be signed.

But recently Mignolet has improved and is doing much better.

So what is every ones current opinion on Mignolet? Does it look like he has a future at Liverpool or are his days still numbered?

Doing much better with a settled defence

Another good keeper should be signed as backup and competition, not as a needed replacement though

We certanly cannot get complacent with him. Being dropped woke him up a bit so competition for his place s clearly important.

Didn't see today's game so can't comment on that performance but he needs a good run of form to convince me, also agree with astro we need another keeper for competition for the spot.

  5. I thought Migs was superb today. Really helped out with crosses and set pieces. His distribution could still be better but I think this is where he lost confidence so he's gone back to basics.

Been watching him since he's come back from being dropped. Had a shakey game against burnley and as much as it was fun watching donkey mignolet he has been a much improved keeper.

On form hes right up there. Hes doing his usual of pulling off some worldie saves (lamela, coleman, benteke) but what hes also doing is commanding his area a bit more. Theres more confidence in him now and theres confidence in him from his defence. His kicking still needs to improve though

As a liverpool hater though heres hoping he has a downturn in form.

He's showing the kind of form that convinced Rodgers to sign him. He's always been a top shot stopper but his distribution and handling from crosses has always been suspect. The distribution is still below average but his handling or at least decision making at crosses is getting better, he's coming for crosses and making decent contact with punches and holding onto a lot more than he used to.

Agree we need decent back up for him, but can we afford to be spending money on a 2nd choice, especially when CM and CF are probably our main priorities.

We could get Sergio Romero on a free transfer this summer.

Personally I prefer to get him to dive and then put my feet on both his ankles so he can't get up. We have a right laugh in training.

Been absolutely brilliant recently and it's no coincidence that having better defenders in front of him and a DM have helped. Looks so much more positive now.

We still need to sign a top quality keeper in the summer - there is no point buying players purely to become back ups. You should always aim to buy someone who is at least the same level or better than what you and your rivals have.

Alternatively you buy the younger version of the players as their future replacement and nurture them until it is time for them to step up, whilst also keeping them ready to step in when needed.

Unfortunately this model does not work so well with keepers.

We wouldnt strictly speaking be signing a back up, we'd be signing competition for the place. the best performer gets the game.

Massive improvement on form. Yesterday he dealt with virtually every corner that was in his area and punched and caught well. He's shot stopping for me has never been in question, but now his aerial threat is getting better. Just work on the distribution and he's away!

Agree with this entirely. I think Ming and the coaches have worked out a good system with crosses (which was a problem previously)
If you feel your not being crowded, catch the ball.If the area is crowded and you have any doubts punch the ****er.Looks so much more
confident now.I see he's looking to release early after collecting but with runners within 20 or 30 yards. Still needs work on the deck, but
looks like a different keeper now. (defensive shape defo helping)

Huge improvement from migs but we still need some stiff competition for him to keep him on his toes

Have to say in the past month he's been excellent.

Even yesterday that one on one footed save he made was key.

We have to back him as he's clearly a confidence player.

Needs a veteran reserve keeper to keep him on his toes.
