Didn't get long enough to really form a proper view today.. Don't think Mario has done much since he came on other than take the free kick. Good thing about them both is that when one comes deep looking for the ball the other can stay centrally. When Balotelli plays up top on his own he comes deep too often looking for the ball and doesn't give us that central striker to look for.
Not often I use the word hate but I hate seeing players wave the imaginary card. Slaughtered Suarez for it last season too
I think Joe Allen has been fantastic in the middle today. He's gone a bit unnoticed but I think that's sometimes because of what he does for the team. Been decent defensively, plenty of forward passes into players but also kept possession by moving the ball quickly and taking it away from players by using his body to protect the ball. He won't get all the headlines but we need a player like that, especially in the 2nd half after going 2-1 up. Someone who will keep possession and stop the other team attacking you.
