Haha trust me, it pains me to ever have to use him but we have to rotate the team. We have a lot of important games left and these 'lesser' games are ideal opportunities.

Ignoring Allen in midfield, it is a fairly strong team. Shame Can hasn't been given a chance in midfield.

When we have possession Allen is as good or better than Lucas, but the lack of physical presence presents a potential issue.

Happy with that apart from Allen who is useless

We need Can in defence right now sadly. Just glad Rodgers seems to have seen the light / reality and he's got the nod over Johnson and Lovren

Feel for Balotelli, has played well when he's come on in the last few chances he's had, even scored the other day, don't see what lallana brings over him tbh.

    I agree.
My thought is 'what if we're pushing Sturridge to much to soon.

    Two questions boys...

When has Allen had a great game for us??

What does Allen do in a football team??

This, the guy is useless and offers nothing. We are better off playing a youth player.

Sturridge is ready, he needs match fitness and will only get that by playing matches

I think he plays in a position that doesn't always get the credit it deserves. On the surface,Lucas rarely has a standout game,
but we all can see the important job that he does. I don't think Joe is a first XI player, but he is a worthy squad member.

Since Lucas has come back in the last couple of games he has been very good to excellent and visibly contributed. Allen in contrast is consistently invisible and uninvolved in games for me.

Allen isn't good enough to be at the club at all imo, only reason he's here is cause Rodgers needed bodies when he came from Swansea, Allen looked ok there and he thought he would do a job, but he hasn't. Also having a player who is obviously sympathetic to his methods and decisions and accepting of these would have helped Rodgers bed in too. So think it was more political than football-based to bring Allen in. Also think it's Rodgers tendency to give players too much leeway and not see what's right in front of him. Some of the selections/teams he was putting out earlier this season show that bad habit.

Only with his favourite's. Balotelli, Borini etc don't get that privilege. Personally I don't rate Allen at all, but at least he grafts for 90 minutes, I'd rather have him in the team than Gerrard. 100%

Think it's justified to tbh. Yes his headless running has been useful the odd games, but not one ****ing assist in his time here is truly shocking . Infact I see Johnson as a more effective player than him, can beat his man on the odd occasion and put in a decent cross. I just don't see the purpose of Allen, He's way too lightweight to be playing DM, it's ridiculous, and the poor chap couldn't spell creativity to be labelled a play maker..

He surely can't be in side just to "recycle Possession" whatever the ****s that means in Brenda's book of Football genius.

He's simply not good enough to be playing for us.

Sloppy from Can but Skrtel gets back to block

Ref has a word with Chamakh who tries to put Mignolet in a headlock for the corner
