Found this about Milik, Stats don't lie. And according to this season's numbers at Ajax, Arkadiusz Milik is set to become the next big star to graduate from their famous finishing school. The Pole, on-loan from Bayer Leverkusen, has a better scoring record than famousAjax old boys Zlatan Ibrahimovic andLuis Suarez. As of last week, Milik had scored 17 goals in 16 games compared with eight over 16 games for Suarez at the age of 20 and six for Ibrahimovic at the same stage. His assists are also up with seven next to six for Suarez after 16 games and two for Ibrahimovic. He averages a goal every 41 minutes. It's a record that has some of the most respected names in Dutch and Polish football predicting great things for the 20 year-old. Former Holland and Poland coach Leo Beenhakker says the hype is justified. "I look at his technique and see the pure talent. He's comparable at his age with (Robert) Lewandowski and Ibrahimovic, who I watched every day," said Beenhakker, now technical director at the Trinidad & Tobago FA. SC Cambuur coach Henk de Jong, after recently being on the wrong end of a Milik performance, enthused: "He is an upcoming star. "He does not look fast, but he is. He has a great ability of getting away from his marker. "Milik just might be the next great Ajaxstriker." Poland coach Adam Nawalka is delighted with what he is seeing from young 'Arek''. And while there's still much he can improve, Nawalka says the attitude Milik shows has him in no doubt he'll get the most out of his ability. "The progress is clear, but his development is no surprise. Arek is at an age when he is developing very fast. You absorb football skills like a sponge. Certainly he's improved his ability to move on the field and his tactical awareness, showing an increasing mental strength and maturity. "He must continue to work, but there is no problem, because he's always had a great enthusiasm for the job. On the training pitch he is fantastic. "You need to tell him to tone it down, because all the time he wants to stay longer and to practice individual skill." Nawalka is quietly confident when predicting Milik will be one of Poland's brightest new stars. "I've seen him every day in training and it was clear that he was going in the right direction, that his development will be correct. Every player has their ups and downs. Especially when they're young, going through different phases, but Arek has such a strong psyche that he will be prepared for difficult times." Milik's instant impact and sudden fame has him now being mentioned with some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Liverpool, Evertonand Arsenal all watched Milik when he was at Gornik Zabrze, where he drew comparisons with Bayern Munich strikerRobert Lewandowski. But Slawomir Mogilany, Milik's former junior coach, feels the youngster should bide his time with Ajax. "If he is to go to another club, the earliest should be in 2-3 years, as a better player," Mogilany told Onet. "Ajax is a very good place for Arek. The club is famous for working with young players, Arek met a group of players there at the same age. In Leverkusen it was a problem, because of the strength of the team, they were older players. "I think Arek realizes that leaving Ajax now would be stupid." Mogilany, who Milik rates as his "football father", adds: "I am glad that Arek's career is evolving. I hope that he will continue to grow, will become even better and in a few years will fulfill the dream of playing for a good Premier League club, or in the Primera Division." Milik admits the Premier League is a favourite, where he first encounteredReal Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, then with Manchester United, and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry. "I enjoy going down the wings, dribbling with the ball. It was a style of play likeCristiano Ronaldo, whom I like very much. My model was Thierry Henry, but when he went to Barcelona and his career began to fade a little, a role model for me became the Portuguese." As for gracing Premier League stadiums in the short-term, Milik laughs. "That's all I can do. I just laugh because I see these reports on the internet. But I can't tell if they're real or not. I have a rule - I don't worry about transfers during the season. I don't know if I'm ready for such a move."
Im not here to make friends. I could not care about anyone who i dont know....you certainly dont know me even though i have appeared on a few photos over the years which made me chuckle..
TBF it's not all bad - Siggy and Fab were good signings and Montero looks like being a good player too. Giving loanee Emnes has been a decent move. The Scots lads haven't set the world alight but were very cheap and offer some potential. But there have also been some odd events such as the Spurs transfer / gift / exchange over Vorm, Davies and Gylfi, the contract with Bony and confusion over the recall date for Ki.. in hindisght he Gomis contract is bonkers but £8 mn at the time may have seemed like a snip. His pedigree suggested he would be as good if not better than WIlf and even after a year a decent return would have been offer with his transfer. I dread to think where we would be without Bony this season!
Pathetic in whose opinion? Yes I am confident in him turning it around regarding scoring. As I've said before time will tell.
How much time does he need? He is a poor striker, who cant score goals and imply doesn't look like he is going to get one. He has to make an effort to actually get in to a scoring position to score goals and he doesn't.
He's hardly been given a run of games yet has he. WBA almost sold Brown Ideye deadline day and would have if the deal for Carlton Cole hadn't fallen through at the last minute. What a mistake that would have been, Brown has got 4 goals in his last 3 matches including MoM award to boot. As Pullis said the lad needed a confidence boost and a consistent run of games. Patience my friend patience.
Yes brown has scored 3 goals in 4 games with less game time this season than the clown we have. So you have countered acted your own argument in give him time. So what took Brown 3 games how long do we give Gomis. He has had more than enough to make a bit of an impression and to be fair he has been sh1te. Since Christmas he has started nearly every game and there is not even the smallest of specks that he could score goals or even will score goals in the future. Of our last 11 games he has started 9 and his spectacular return is 2 goals against league 2 Tranmere. I think he has had more than enough time.
I would say their game time is very simular and the situation they found themselves were also simular which is why I used this as an example. WBA paid £10 million for him, he had some game time early season then found himself on the bench but recently has been playing more regularly. I know we differ on what we think Gomis can or cannot offer the team but that's what these forums are all about, opinions!!
Yes but he is scoring in less time than our clown, so why hasn't Gomis in the last 7 league games and Brown has 4 in 3. All you are succeeding in doing is showing how poor Gomis has been in those games. Sbulb let me ask you, how long is long enough for him to show us he can play.
According to some Taylor is still getting over his injury (over 40 games) so Gomis might come good for us about this time next season. The difference between Gomis & Brown? Pulis.
And the fact that he first started Managing in 1992. So he has around 21 years more experience than Monk. Appointing a "novice" as Manager was always going to be a risk - Garry's had/got a steep learning curve to negotiate. The Board appointed him and they (& we) have to learn to accept and live with it!
This chart seems a bit out of kilter to me! Anyone else find it strange? https://www.bsports.com/statsinsigh...ague-shooting-aguero-bony-gomis?#.VOU1Syk6WyU
