Yeah can't argue with that. Though I think Anderson would be better as a defensive midfielder as we know he can't score or shoot for **** and he is good in the tackle and has energy to burn when fit.
No you'll see. Nani will be on the bench. We saw Valencia take Nani out of the side when he come back from injury and we all know Nani can't play on the left wing whereas it is Young's natural position. Though I have no doubt we will rotate them all season. It's how I see it anyway.
We did that with Lucas, he was crap as this supposed all round midfielder that we bought but he's quality in the DM position.
very good. but eatcustard was calling you out on saying valencia and young would be on the bench, when you had them on the wings either side of rooney.thats what he meant by typo.go back and check.
Like luvgonzo said, time will tell. I won't bother trying to counter points because theres no point. Although I'd like to say, as much as a gamble he was, he scored two goals in less than 45 minutes than Torres did at Chelsea.
Yeah but look how much you were having a giggle at Rooney when he went nearly a year without scoring in open play. Yet after the new year he probably was the difference with us winning the league. Torres isn't finished, he'll be back to his best next season I have no doubt about it. Torres is proven, Carroll isn't.
sorry if someones replied to this quote before and said exactly what im going to say ( i cant be asked to read that many pages of comments ) Andy carrol for 35m will never ever be a bargain, do you seriously think he'll be good enuf to sell for 50m? also i highly doubt henderson will be a bargain, but its slightly possible.
At his age it's not just re-sale but if he can be a consistant striker for us for 5 + years. If he helps us win trophies then it's worth the fee.
hmm yes, sorry forgot about that, all be it i cant see him scoring over 25 goals a season, like drogba, rooney, and even bent. allbeit i do think he'll cosietently score over 15 goals a season, which is more than decent, he'll also get a decent amount of assits from heading down to others, but at 35m, i dont think he'll ever be a bargain. but he can be useful, suarez was a much better acquisition, which might make up for the henderson\carrol deals ( albeit i dont think carrol will perform bad )
Carroll - £35 mil for an injured player wasn't a good deal, and it would of been better to wait until the summer and buy someone better? Who? That's the ****ing scout's job. Henderson - £16 mil isn't really great, and it completely depends on next year. If he isn't good next year, then Liverpool will drop him for someone better, as you'll want the best for the CL. Adam - Pretty cheap, good deal. Could of been a one season wonder though. Suarez - Be nice to see how he links up with all these new people, but we already know that £22 mil was a great deal, considering what he has ALREADY done. EDIT - It must be nice to see that Liverpool are being able to spend the money in the first place. I wish Bolton could do the same, all we have done is bought a decent Swansea player on a free
I don't think he's expected to score 20 + that's Suarez job, you are right in the 2nd part of the statement, he's there to hold the ball up get headed assists and goals and generally be a pain in the arse for defenders. It's the combination of the 2 that i'm hoping is good.
See Berbatov will forever be known as a waste of money because we bought him for £30m. Even though he is a brilliant player. He has scored 22 goals last season and still people think he isn't worth the fee. Whatever Carroll does, unless it is unbelieveable, will never be seen as worth the money. Especially considering he is English and his recent troubled private life.
I see it differently. I think Carroll will be used as the main striker expected to score 20+ abd Suarez to compliment him. But I guess it's your team and you know best. Just how I saw it last season.
