Dammit, the chinky secret polis MSS are probably looking into your online atctivity on this forum Hello, my Chinese friends, and in your own language konnichiwa I do not know supernorwich32 san, I have no business dealings with him. I do know he has deep disrespect for his elders. He may also be selling Chinese secrets to a British agent known only as "ST" who I believe resides in Edinburgh, Scotland, goes by the name "Stuart" and hates all colours yellow. I am an innocent bystander who values your culture. I enjoy what your culture has brought to my country, particularly a No. 42 (with chips) Sincerely, Gambol
Plenty Your business model is based on there being a majority of losers and a minority of winners. You say its a different industry but every casino is based on the same theory, there is always winners, but its a load of ****e really. Not that I'd outlaw gambling or gaming. I'm just pointing out that you're talking ****e again.
Half my working day is spent weeding out the bad customers from good customers - we get at least 9 bad sign ups for every 1 good one. They use their wives/daughters/grannies credit cards to open about 20 accounts each and spend all day trying to pick holes as your odds move (and mostly arbitrage their position with other bookmakers whose odds have moved quicker/slower than yours). So yes our business model is based on there being a majority of losers and a minority of winners, but it takes quite a lot of intervention to keep it in our favour because there are so many winners.
Casinos have to deal with people working the system as well. Humans will always disregard rules, especially when it comes to money. It's just an occupational hazard I guess. I dunno whether to answer the second part seriously or just laugh. People will always gamble, just like they will always do drugs. I've no problem with it really but if you where a heroin dealer I'd still be telling you to stop bitching.
Bird started out in a well-known high street bookies and the geezer from the Chinky used to bet really heavy, £2k per race, sometimes more. We wondered what else he was doing for income as he seldom won and didn't seem to give a ****. ...and that anecdote about one person proves that all tiddly winks are heavy gambling triads.
I have worked in the betting industry as a bookmaker for a few independent firms in the past, so I picked up a thing or 2 about gambling whilst I was on the inside. To beat the bookies it's not about finding the winner, it's about backing your selection at the correct price. You need to first workout what the probability of your selection actually winning is. Let's say Chelsea are at home to Manchester City, and they are Even money for the win. That is probably about the correct price for Chelsea to beat Man City at home in a league game, so if you took the even money everytime those 2 where to meet at Stamford bridge, chances are you would break even over a period of time. However if you could get on at 5/4 everytime, eventually over a period of time you would get infront of the bookies. Look at it as if it was a flip of a coin, the correct odds are even money(a 50/50 bet) so if you where getting 5/4 eventually if you kept flipping over time you would get infront of the bookies. It takes a lot of skill and nous to master when there is value in the market and when there isn't. The best gamblers have this skill it's not really something you can teach. They can tell when something is over priced in the market, where as most punters cant. The problem most successful gamblers find is they can't get a bet on eventually. I used to win loads from betting on horses but now I can't get a bet on with most firms, and have to travel well out of my area to place a bet. All my online accounts have been restricted to small stakes. So even if you do become good at sports betting, eventually you will struggle to get your bets on. The bookies don't want to take bets off unprofitable customers. The reason people will always lose long term on casino games like roulette is because the odds are in the casinos favour. Including Zero there are 37 numbers on a roulette wheel, and the casino pays you out at 35/1. So you get £36 back for every £1 you have on a number. So if you put £1 on every number it would cost you £37 but you would only get back £36 no matter what number it landed on, so you'd lose £1 everytime (2.8% of your £37 stake) It doesn't matter how people bet in a casino, the casino is guaranteed to make 2.8% on all turnover on roulette over a period of time. It is the simple laws of averages that can't be beaten. Anyone who says they regularly win on games like roulette is a liar, as it is impossible. Sure you may have days where you clear up, but over a period of time you will lose long term. It's as simple as that really. To beat the bookies you need to be betting when the odds are in your favour, not in the favour of the bookies or the casinos
^^^ I've explained this many a time and people don't seem to understand. Very well put. Value is the key and books hate it when you take their value lines
Yeah but sooner or later they will get wise to the person putting the bets on for you. I've even set up online accounts in my mrs name, but they restrict or shutdown those eventually
Banned from all High street bookies for being too good at gambling? , I call bullshit . As pompeymouth suggested , you could use "mates" or relatives to go to any of the 1000's of bookmakers all over the country and throw them a bone when your horses keep winning. Or possibly because you don't have any friends because you are a rat bastard that grasses people up ?. I would be careful what you post on here boys we have a resident snitch posting on GC trying to blend in .
You are talking out of your arse "It doesn't matter how people bet the casino is guaranteed to make 2.8% on all turnover on roulette over a period of time". Firstly in a real casino ,not a touch bet terminal there are many different games for example Punto Banco works on a very low percentage taxing 5% on bank wins , a huge margin is also taken on egalite bets. Secondly some tables lose and the average of say 15 roulettes will be more like 70% they would not be able to operate on a 2.8% win loss margin. I think most people realise that there are 37 numbers and you get 36/1 Mr grassypants.
It's all here http://wizardofodds.com/ I do believe it lists the house edge on just about every game out there.
I might stock up on octoporn and spam your Geordie spastics board I'm pretty sure all the bans were lifted
I'm banned from all high street shops because i'm so handsome I make the staff look ugly, i've taken to wearing a Venom mask.
