    Sad.

He did far too much gear, but he was a nice bloke, his club(The Playground), was the best in London for a while.

    RIP

Never really embraced the whole New Romantic vibe.

    Sad though.

Always loved Visage, one of my favourite teenage bands. Got me into more diverse music really. A bit hit and miss and obviously a bit more style than substance but paved the way for many others. I even liked a bit of their most recent comeback album. Sad news.

Frise et froid now for sure.

Although a punk, I liked the new romantic vibe, and especially liked Fade to grey.

    A punk?

    Never.

I always imagined you as a cardy and stay pressed trouser sort of bloke, even in your teens,.

Side parting and military moustache as you got older and now sporting a neatly trimmed full set.

I have been mislead and feel foolish.

It's like I don't know who you are anymore, any other bombshells you want to drop on me today?

    FFS.

Ive got a neatly trimmed full set. How does that fit with the image in your mind's eye?

Be honest, you always thought Beaton without the Brut.

He had more than 50 shades of grey.

Even though i was "no new romantic" i did quite like Visage at times.

Sad and so young. 55 is nothing but he paid for his previous lifestyle.

    R.I.P. Strange brew.

Kinell. You've just described Chazz. How the chuff can you mix us both up?

I went to school at Gutersloh, and was almost kicked out for wearing a hoop in in my ear cos boys were only allowed studs. I did get sent home for dyeing my hair green too, though bright bleached blonde was acceptable. I suspect the abuse my hair got back then is why I have so little of it now :(

Those days out there, was very few punks, most were as you described in fact. Not me, red tartan bondage trousers, green leather jacket, black eye makeup, sorta spiky hair and into thoughtful protest about stuff I cared about. My uncle on the other hand, 6 months younger than me, arrested for spraying "Maggie is a pimp and we're her prostitutes" on York walls. Kept any attention off me he did.

I hate any type of knitwear, always have.

I have a goatee now, but only cos at first it annoyed the missus, then I kinda got used to it, and when I shaved it off everyone laughed, so I grew it back. Its generally nearly trimmed I grant you.

I never thought I was an enigma wrapped up in a conundrum to you CG, I thought I was as easy to read as a book.

With piccys in obviously, cos you were in the army.

There's something appealing about that, but the thought of the cut throat razors they use just makes me shiver.

I do mine meself with a proper electric beard trimmer thingy.

Let us know how you get on!

The club was called 'The Blitz' two good friends of mine hung around with all the stars of the future and didn't think much of it until much later, nice guy but damaged goods. Without his club there would be no: Duran, Ultravox, Boy George etc...

    Not far off.

I always imagined you'd look something like a cross between Eric Bristow and Archie Gemmill.

    A right handsome bastard.
