Think they may have got the wrong Umbers, according to this article ..... http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/controversial-italian-firm-behind-leeds-8636748 Eleonora Sport sets up base in sleepy Shepley but no sign of Massimo Cellino Eleonora Sport sets up base in sleepy Shepley but no sign of Massimo Cellino The firm behind Huddersfield Town’s bitter rivals Leeds United has moved on to enemy territory...to sleepy Shepley. The rural village south of Huddersfield is now home to the registered office of Eleonora Sport Limited, founded by charismatic Italian Massimo Cellino. The controversial agricultural magnate, known as the King of Corn, was disqualified from running Leeds United last month and has now also stepped down as a director of Eleonora Sport, the company that finances the Elland Road club. Part of the change has seen the Italian firm move its official base from central London to a small business park off Abbey Road, Shepley. Documents lodged with Companies House show Eleonora Sport Ltd, which holds a 75% stake in Leeds, moved its HQ to Shepley on January 27, four days after Mr Cellino officially stepped down from the board following a long row with the Football League. Firms based at the village’s Whitby Court business park include chartered accountants Gibson-Booth. please log in to view this image Whitby Court, Abbey Road, Shepley One of the partners at Gibson-Booth is Richard Umbers. Leeds United is currently being run by financier Andrew Umbers until Mr Cellino’s ban ends on April 10. No one at Gibson Booth would confirm if they had taken on the account or if Richard Umbers was related to Andrew Umbers. Leeds United’s press office was also unable to confirm or deny the arrangement. Andrew Umbers took the helm as chairman of Leeds United after Mr Cellino was banned following months of legal strife. The league said he failed the so called ‘fit and proper’ test as he had been convicted of failing to pay import tax on his yacht Nelie. He is due to resume as Leeds Utd chairman when his ban is served, however, more drama is expected as the league is investigating a potential further misconduct charge against him for failing to disclose the relevant court document when it first came available. Mr Cellino’s links with Andrew Umbers began when Umbers was asked by Leeds United owners GFH to find new investment. He also worked for Ken Bates as director of Eurofin Capital, advising him on the sale of his stake in Leeds United to the Bahrain based bank. Mr Cellino bought his stake from the bank in April last year and has continued to use Andrew Umbers as his advisor. He was brought onto the Leeds United board in December last year.
Totally agree Olof, only Leeds City Holdings were wound up however, I'm sure there's more news to follow. Nothing wrong with moving closer to Leeds, media make mountains out of molehills all time. From memory, Bates wife has shares with GFH. How does Bates know someone paid 8 mill for shares and, did Cellino actually sell that amount of shares; how did the media miss that one. Didn't Bates mention the shares weren't registered or something. I have a funny feeling Bates and Harvey have something to hide.
Is it a coincidence that Cellino's attempted embezelment charge for the Cagliari ground business has just been upgraded to actual embezelment? If they make that one stick, he will do jail time and the conviction will not be spent for 10 years!!
Not my story mate Cellino charges changed By Football Italia staff please log in to view this image Former Calgliari President Massimo Cellino has seen his criminal charge change from attempted embezzlement to embezzlement. The former Isolani chief was arrested in 2013 after authorities looked in to alleged embezzlement of funds and fraudulent misrepresentation regarding the club's new Is Arenas. However, after uncovering new evidence, the trial team have re-evaluated the case and changed the charges from attempted to actual embezzlement.
