According to the old fair play league, we're the 3rd dirtiest team in the division, although I can't figure out what the letters stand for I assume that the numbers are for minutes per red/yellow card? http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/west-ham-top-fair-play-table-set-europa-league-spot/
it doesn't show that we are dirty bastards. there is not much of a range in the values. the R/Y column is the only one that relates to cards. teams are given 10 points per game and for each yellow a point is taken off, and for each red three points. the score per game can be less than zero. we have 171. not one of the best, but only two bookings worse than manciti. it is a fact that most booking are given in the defensive half and teams at the bottom of the league spend more time defending and therefore get more cards. the P/P column is from 1 to 10 and is for positive play. we lose out big time on this one, prefering to defend and to break from the back. our figure is 35 lower than west ham's and accounts for more than half of the 60 point difference between their total and ours. R/O is respect towards opponents and is marked out of 7. R/R is respect towards the referee, also marked out of 7. B/O is behaviour of team officials, from 1-6. these are all added up. the maximum is 40 points per game. the points total is divided by 4 to give the score. this can be divided by games played to get an average score per game out of ten.
It's not like We're a team that other teams/fans have an Image of in terms that We are a kind of dirty you Can't wash off. I think our reputation is hard fought for & well deserved.
It doesnt show that we're dirty at all, it shows that we're punished by referees. Chelsea shouldve had 2 red cards against us but they werent given.
I can't see the table as it won't load on my work computer, but is there a correlation between the amount of possession a team has and the number of yellow and red cards? I imagine we pick up more cards because the opposition have the ball longer against us.
We don't play act or fall all over the place either....Villa's big centre back went down about 5 times in 5 minutes (it felt like that anyway) last time out...are they considered fouls? Cause we hardly touched him each time.
At least he does them. When did Sir Alex ever give an interview to the BBC or print media, despite being contractually obligated to?
When he was on the telly you could'nt understand him anyway. All them years in Manchester and never learnt the lingo.
