A pal of mine was on tour with them when he went missing, they were the support act. On the night he disappeared they were ripping shreds out of him at the aftershow party as he apparently mimed most of his guitar playing at the gig...when they woke up next morning he was gone - they thought he'd just gone off in a huff, but he's never been seen since!
Really a sad and tragic end for him. He'd apparently had many problems over the previous years with self-abuse etc...
My pal said he was a bit of a tortured soul - wouldn't wish mental illness on anyone, can be really debilitating and confusing for eveyone around as there are no obvious signs of illness. Totally sad for anyone - saw Amy Winehouse not long before she passed away, and she had a desperate look in her eyes too.
R.I.P Steve Strange. Wow, I only posted Fade To Grey a couple of days back in this thread, 55 years, way too young to be passing. Here it is again.
Wow, I have just been comforting a close mate. His father who he works with suddenly got ill about six months back. He was diagnosed today with motor neurone disease. Life has a funny and often cruel way of chucking things at you. You just never know what's lies around the corner. Anyway the music must play on. Thanks again to everyone for the top music selections and for keeping this fine thread alive. Peace!
Cheers Aqua, this is one of my fave Yes songs, I love a good live version so thanks for posting this little gem mate!
Sorry, please excuse the Spanish (I think) subtitles, before I post a song if there is a few different uploads on youtube I tend to check a few out to see which one has the better sound quality. As all you music heads will agree, poor sound quality sucks big time! Anyway, carry on!
A great band. I can play drums, not played for ages but anyway I love a band with a good stix man, Matt Helders is a very good drummer. He has a similar style to Dave Grohl.
