cheers psycho I've just paid up for a couple of months for a new dedicated server and it seems to handle the pressure very well so far but obviously we'll see how much we can push it in the future. I'm keen not to add any ads or subs to the site as well, I don't want this seen as a commercial venture and in truth I have enough experience to know that unless you have absolutely huge volumes of traffic the ads don't produce much revenue anyway and are not worth the irritation.
No Modding!! Most people I know have joined up so you don't have to watch what you say. With numbers that have doubled in a day, I would say thats the reason for a lot of people! A new interface and some more unique features and this site can be a REAL replacement for 606. Look into advertisement too!
moderation is going to be a sticky point, there will be racist, facist, sexist statements flying about - and obviously the racism and facism is not on.

Otherwise there would be no decent debate whatsoever and just random vitriol from wums, cus surely at the end of the day wer'e here to talk about the beautiful game, not just shout our mouths off like some twelve year old chav (for that please see the manc wum currently residing on the LFC board)? But it would be nice to drop the f word in a few posts after a terrible performance, without moderation!
Agreed. It'd be nice to just vent your frustration without worrying about the Beeb stopping the use of such horrendous obscenities as 'crap'. But then moderation is definitely a must to, like Mick said, prevent the posting of racist remarks etc.
If you do need any donations in the future, I'd be more than happy to help and I'm sure many from the Newcastle board would as well

Mod's are a must but I think 606 mods were just over kill. I think every club board needs a couple of regulars just to keep things ticking over

Right time for my knowledgeable input. We will need moderation if we keep growing at this rate. The old regulars should all be made mods for general discussion but moderation should be on a reactionary basis only, meaning another user would have to object before action can be taken with the mod who first receives the complaint having final say on deletion, the mods should not be able to act unilaterally, ace did and thats mostly why we got rid of him. have a sticky on each other board for nominations and hold a poll on each board to find 1 or 2 mods for each board. DO NOT CENSOR WORDS. THIS DOES MY TITS IN.
