Just like Garry and the 'deluded' Huw (who stepped in and not only helped save our club, but is actually the main reason where we are today) ain't concerned about your claptrap towards them.

I have no problem with anyone debating ML etc. What I find tedious though is your apparent delight in us losing so that you can use that to your affect in your anti Monk spin. Yes, you love and adore Laudrup and you don't rate Monk. No need to say it over and over just for the sake of it.

OMG! I haven't been here for a few weeks because last time I was, it was childish name calling and squabbling.

2 weeks later and it hasn't changed. Hasn't anyone noticed that this thread is about a manager from somewhere else who is rumoured to be taking over at another club.
There wasn't this level of vitriolic bullshit when Roberto went to Everton. Maybe because Roberto didn't achieve a cup or get us into the Premiership.
There wasn't this level of vitriol when Toshack changed his last few jobs. And he really did achieve something with the Swans.
As far as Swansea is concerned, Laudrup is a 'has been'! (He has been our manager).

How Monk ended up getting compared to an ex-manager who may get another job at another club is beyond me.
And before anyone says I'm trying to silence the debate on Laudrup or I'm a Monk 'fanboy', I'm not for or against either in this thread because it's about QPR and Laudrup. And a rumour at that!

Maybe its the fact that Martinez walked out, so didn't leave the massive divide in opinions like the Laudrup's sacking did.

Since before his sacking there has been a huge divide in opinion regarding whether Laudrup should have been sacked or not, and unfortunately as Monk (for some who are in the Laudrup camp) was a big player in his sacking by going behind his back to the board, we want to see him bettering his predecessor. Else what was the point.

I as someone who was against Laudrup getting the sack, and am sick to the teeth at how ignorant some are in regards to the fixtures we faced, in the awful December/January fixtures that resulted in poor form. Or how those same fans ignore the fact that last season the Europa took its toll, instead they seem to think we should have still been doing much better in the league, whilst bigger teams such as Newcastle and Liverpool also have suffered playing in the Europa in the season prior to us. But our fans seem ignorant to the fact that we are like any other team, prone to issues regarding the distances involved, the injuries, the tiredness, yet we were still sitting in 12th, but that was not good enough.

Some of us were sick to the teeth of the abuse aimed at Laudrup, and for those of us who could see that the Europa was taking its toll, it was hard to digest how fans were turning so quickly.

Its also a lot to do about hypocrisy. Such as form used to slag off Laudrup, but when similar form is apparent under Monk, those on the other side of the divide seem to back Monk. Or when players dropped off in form, it was due to Laudrup losing the dressing room, yet Dyer, Routs, and others haven't been half the player they are capable of, yet those same fans praise Monk.

At the end of the day, the simple fact of the matter is, you have come to the Swansea forum, and opened up a topic that clearly states it is about Laudrup. How can yu possibly complain?

Whilst I respect your opinion on the whole matter, regardless of whether I agree or not, you have made my point exactly.

This thread is about Laudrup and the possibility of going to QPR and it's been morphed (yet again) into the tired debate of whether Laudrup should or shouldn't have been sacked or whether he was to blame for whatever or whether Monk should have been appointed or is even good enough.

We have "Monk and Laudrup" threads, but people (and this time I'm really not going to name names) are insistent on derailing the threads every time they hear Laudrup's name.

    MEANWHILE, BACK TO THE THREAD...

I'd be surprised if Laudrup was Tony Fernandes' 'dream manager'. Unless he has boyhood memories of Laudrup when he played. They've already had Harry Redknapp who is regarded by many as a great manager. To go from him to a 'dream manager' doesn't imply someone who only has 18 months experience in the PL and is currently at a league that would struggle to compete at any competitive level that's needed to keep QPR up.

    Fair enough Shaper.

As for Laudrup, I was hoping he would go there as Fernandes is the sort who will spend money and I think his last choices have wasted it on has been players. Where as I think Laudrup would spend it more wisely and build a team from it.

"Apparent delight in us losing". You are becoming as tiresome as Dai with your deliberately distorted posts.

JUST PRODUCE A SINGLE POST OF MINE WHERE I HAVE EXTOLLED THIS APPARENT DELIGHT.

All this "I love Laudrup, and don't rate Monk" is just nonsense. Sure I admire Laudrup,as there's much to admire.
When Monk does something admirable, perhaps I'll admire him as well. Until then, well, the jury is out.
Your adoration of Monk is temporary, and will only last for as long as he is the Manager of the team you support.
Laudrup,on the other hand, has something Monk will never ever have - a real pedigree, with World wide respect.
If you doubt that, just go on u tube, and search for some videos in his name. Then go find some Garry Monk ones.

I read a post recently that said you are a teacher. Of what,I wonder? I wouldn't want you teaching any of my kids'. Stop making things up,for goodness sake, and accept that your opinion/outlook is different to mine.
That doesn't make EITHER of us wrong, just different.
A real teacher wouldn't have ANY problem with that,in fact,he would encourage his pupils to look at things in a broader perspective, and explain the value of differing points of view.
Time to get off my back now Valley, before you make me cross. <laugh>
