Although the rankings are a load of **** anyways, have the FA noticed how much they've dropped since Woy became manager?

****ing get rid of him ffs.

Get Redknapp in charge. The peoples choice. <party> (He certainly wouldn't be doing that dance if he were to be offered the position)

He's the worst anti-footballing manager the FA could have appointed. Thoroughly hopeless.

Coupled with Rooney wasting a spot in the team, we'll carry on dropping down the rankings.

I know he does it for Man U but he's ****ing useless in an England shirt.

Players get picked on reputation too much too and not form or ability.

Agreed, that's why he's one of England's all time top scorers.

Haha exactly, if he scores three in the next five games he'll not only equal Bobby Charltons goal tally but also his goals/games ratio, he must be terrible.

There is something to be said for Rooney tucking in against **** teams....all those years ago Charlton didn't play against muppets like Liechtenstein, Andorra etc. on anywhere near as regular basis. Great goal scoring record yes, but certainly there will always be quesiton marks over his consistent failure since 2004 to perform to even a good standard at tournaments

Rooney has 8 goals in his last 13 games.

I don't even think Roo would want him dropped after that.

It's cool to bash Rooney though.

Rooney not only has scored the majority of his goals against minnows but has not performed when he has needed too.

He has been **** for England.

Rooney assisted and scored our two goals at the World Cup.

Take Rooney out and we wouldn't have even scored a goal at this World Cup at all.

He dis a lot more at that tournament than any other bastard in our team.

Isn't that the case for everyone who as played for England since 1966 other then brief glimpses in 1990 and 1996?

We didn't even qualify for anything from 1970 to 1980.

Most countries were **** back in Charlton's time. It was less of a truly global game. Even France and Holland had yet to do anything.

USA is 31?? I usually don't have an overinflated view of our USMNT but I think 31 sells we Yanks a bit short.

As high as 15th, crikey riley we are doing well. Have to say with the clueless tw*t Woy in charge we aint going to pull any trees up, despite having a number of decent youngsters who are now coming through, we won`t see the best of them until they get someone else in who is a modern thinker, Woy`s teams have always been dour and negative.

Yes, the German with Beckenbauer, Muller etc, Brazil with Pele, Rivelino etc, Portugal with Eusebio were were awful.
It was a global game, just less qualifying for the finals (which would be a good idea to do,again but will never happen). What has happened since is that other countries have progressed far more than we have. The reasons for that are many, a lot to do with arrogance and insular attitudes to coaching and management and lack of investment in grass roots football.
