Due to being stuck in a hotel in Gower with clockwork WiFi I had to follow the game via BBC text. That made what seems to have been a frustrating game even worse. Was it really that bad? I'm getting a teensy bit worried about our not being able to score goals in any decent quantity I must admit.
Knew they'd be harder to break down. Not impressed think we should have started tadic and kept elia for the bench.
Agreed. Having a striker who doesn't score is tolerable if they do other things and you have goalscorers at other positions, but that's not necessarily us right now...we just don't have much goalscoring acumen in the lineup save Mane right now. One goal in three; time to shake things up.
Very disappointing but was always going to be hard against a 10 man defence. At least we're still in the top 4. The dream's not over yet.
Completely granted but at the same time we need to be better at taking our chances, recently it seems we have buckets full of them and just cant put them away, something we used to do very well (taking our chances).
I can't really blame Pelle. He is knackered mentally and physically. He badly needs a few weeks off, but we have no one to replace him.
We put in lots of crosses and get lots of corners, however we don't have the players to make the most of these situations. When did we last score from a corner; how many was it ago?
Consider all of LTL's posts as endorsed by me as I'm not sure I have the energy to keep up with the inevitable bed wetting this evening.
two sides whose early season promise could be derailed due to squad depth, although I feel our team selection was because we may have been looking at the FA cup.
I don't agree though. It's easier to score a goal when there's 4 people around their box because they have a full compliment than it is when there's 9 people in their box and a lame duck outside it.
Yeah, I'm not really blaming Pelle for that reason, just that we could muddle through if there were other obvious sources of goalscoring. But we're starting a lineup with quite a few players who are either shot shy or should be, so having Pelle be a target man and not much else is well short of ideal.
Where was the new Sam Allardyce style that I've been hearing about all season? That was typical Allardyce from the whistle and the usual timewasting antics.
Agreed. I inwardly winced when they went down to 10 men because I knew they'd retreat, and we needed all the space we could get.
A missed opportunity, but a point is a point. We are still hard to beat as we enter the final furlong of the league. Not a disaster...all the other teams drop points as well.
