Jelavic has scored 7 goals this season.

Ings the next big thing has 8, Berahino has played for England and scored 9.

Only 3 people in the bottom half of the table have scored more this year. Benteke has scored 2 and is supposedly worth 20m+

I know we all want more from our strikers but in comparison to other teams around us he is doing easily good enough.

I know! Anything below 38 goals is disgraceful.

 

As an odd stat for goalscoring. Despite being promoted 4 times in the last 15 years we haven't had a striker score 20 league goals in a season since before USA '94 (Elliott was a winger, Alexander had at least 5 in cup games).

 

We have had a terrible record with strikers!

 

Possibly why so many seem content to accept poor goal returns as 'fantastic' or at least 'acceptable'.

 

Definitely a season of two halves for him. I seem to recall he was on about 18 by Christmas!

You have to go back to Duane Darby 96/97 before Alexander.. Windass netted 15 all comps 07/08

 

In 93/94 (all competitions), but I couldn't see how many were League goals and how many Cup goals. Before that it's Payton (again I don't know how many Cup goals) and Edwards (26 league goals) for more than 20 in all competitions.

 

Darby only got 13 in the league that year.

Deano got 23 in 93/94.

 

Club record league goals in a season: 1932/33 Bill McNaughton 41 in Div 3 North..
