Both Noble & Nolan out is a massive boost, if we can swarm Song I can see us winning the midfield battle.
Wanyama, Davis & Reed against Song on his own basically in midfield - I expect West Ham will concede possession to us and look to play on the counter. Can see both teams scoring.
That's some attacking lineup by WHU. But not very strong in the midfield, we should dominate in that area. JWP our, Reed in for Saints. I'd say it's a good call, JWP wasn't in a great form lately, even his set pieces haven' t produced any advantage for us. And Reed will bring additional steel to the defence.
Buggery this would be a perfect game for 3 at the back. Maybe if Vic doesn't let go of Fonte's hand for the entire game it'll be similar enough.
I'm still waiting for a game that I am confident we can win. The only time I felt confident was against Sheffield United
That's a good point - this team could switch between the two with one of Davis, Reed or Elia (all pretty dubious options TBH) at LWB.
Not at all keen on that though, he's definitely done very well when we've been without the ball but that doesn't necessarily make him a good wingback. Then again if he does play there it means Ron believes he can be, and I trust his judgement over mine so hey-ho.
No, I think it's a 4-3-3 formation. Back four with Yoshida at left back, Wanyama and Reed patrolling in front of the back four, Davis a bit further up the pitch, Pelle as a central point an the attack and Mane/Elia on the sides or behind him. Seeing both lineups, now I'm more optimistic about the match. Reed and Wanyama will offer cover we didn't have against Swansea and hopefully help the back four stop WHU forwards from catching us on the break.
Not a great deal of midfield options on the WHU bench either Wheras our bench is beginning to look stronger again....although no Schneiderlin??
I'm never confident when we play West Ham for some reason but the teams have made me slightly more optimistic, will be a big 3 points if we get it.
