The Liverpool match we might finally have a full squad to pick from after a long while. And when we are at full strength, I fancy us against anyone.
https://betting.betfair.com/footbal...-southamptons-defence-so-good-110215-703.html A review of our defence in an article on Betfair. Nothing new, but a nice read nonetheless before tonight's match
Just seen a snippet of Allardyce's presser where he says the difference between Saints and WHU is that we hold onto a win whereas West Ham end up with a draw. I have always thought that was the big difference between us this season and the last....we don't do draws. We lose the odd game, but in general we win the others. Under Nigel and Mauricio, we had unbeaten runs, but too many draws. We know how to win now, because we can defend one out.
Here's my preview: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/content.php?572-PREVIEW-SAINTS-vs-West-Ham-United-Barclays-Premier-League Includes a flashback to the last time we played, odds, news and a (potentially) encouraging stat at the end...
I have been mulling over the possibility of Fraser getting clattered and Kelvin having to step up, as far as I can see he hasn't had a competitive minute of play this season, how sharp will he be?
I'm confident we'll make up for the Swansea result. Hope Carroll doesnt play but even if he does we've coped with him well in the past.
You can be sure they will focus on our left hand side tonight. Sam is no mug and this will be our weakness. That said, Mane looks unstoppable at the moment and expecting Pelle to have a better game tonight. Why - not idea!!
The Northampton Massive is nearly ready to move south for tonights vital game. Very nervous after the Swansea debacle and expect West Ham to employ similar tactics in sitting deep in numbers then breaking fast (especially if no AC) to try and catch us out. I feel we will need to be patient and not try and force the game too much by slinging too many aimless deep looping crosses into the box. Possession and quick inter change passing will be the order off the day. Just wish we had someone who could shoot from 25m COYRs
At least we now have players who will attempt from 25m. In the last couple of games, Elia, Pelle, Mané, JWP and Steve Davis have all had pops. One will hit the target soon, hopefully this evening. Betfair implied chances for tonight: 55% Saints win 19% WHU win 26% Draw Vin
http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150211-subsidised-chelsea-tickets-2264115.aspx Unrelated but interesting. Saints to subsidise the Chelsea away tickets by £10 each. Nice touch.
Predictions from Serbia: Myself - lots of goals in the second half: Saints 4 - 1 West Ham My wife (unbeaten in the prediction league and known locally as Mystic Miodragovic) - close game Saints 2 - 1 WHU (she's never heard of West Ham)
