Leicester obviously gambling on promotion with your statement of intent by buying up seemingly the best talent you can get your hands on ..except Maynard , well for the time being, as the rewards for promotion as you know with the money and the glamourous matches being at the forefront of sven's and your chairmans mind. Am i jelous , yes , am i a fan of sven , no but no doubt the pressure of being the favourites to go up will obviously mean you will have to deliver , best of luck in the coming season for a club thats geared for prem football at the king power stadium.
Many thanks chap - the amount of expectation is going to be huge this season. I cant think of any other season being a fox that its ever been so intense. But we are all loving the rollercoaster ride at the moment, so we shall bask in the sunshine before the clouds spoil the party. Good luck to the 'Wall this season - always a club that creates a problem for any team on the field!
Are we buying our way out of this league? Yes. Do I give two hoots? No. Fact is, the PL clubs that are relegated get paid over £40m for their top flight failure. That means clubs like ours and yours are already up against the financial powerhouses. There are of course moral POV's about our spending, and as a socialist I do find myself in a difficult position supporting the money=instant success plan. But we do have owners who are willing to back us (and I'm not naive enough to think they're doing it just for us - they want KP to be promoted in the PL) and we are spreading our wealth across the division. Thanks for the mainly positive comments though
To the extent that we are looking to significantly invest in proven players; yes I suppose you could say we are 'buying' quality and therefore, as a result, perhaps quantity in the number of points we are hoping to tot up. But, we are also looking to bring in talent from lower leagues, loans of young and untested (other than at our club) players, talent from abroad and at least two youth players will probably progress in the first team squad. I think it is far more dynamic than us looking around and just picking out the best of the crop, but it helps with our financial muscle at the min and lure of Sven as a manager.
And as an additional caviat, I would just add that as a result of our spending, not only are we spreading our wealth across the division, but we have sold two players (Fryatt, Hobbs) who would normally have a joint value of about £5m for £2m.
Word of warning guys, MBORO last season spent plenty and bought in lots of new players which was a massive failure. That is a concern i have with us as we have bought in 5 already and PJ is looking to bring in another 4 or 5 more, saying that, we can't get any worse than the last few seasons whereas you can!!! Also i hope some of your new players can play in the snow!!!!
Yes but the difference is that Boro wasted all their money on players from Scotland. And we know from our own experience that Scottish players are cack at this level. As for your lads, I can see you being top 6 this year, Jewell is doing well
Ahh, but Middlesborough bought Scottish players and there is a huge difference between English and Scottish football.
Are we buying are way out of the championship..... I sincerley hope so. Hang on, is that Sven on the phone to yet another club...............
Nah, we got the right price for each player IMO. Two players who have had one decent season in the championship for 2m isn't bad business.
All we are doing is giving ourselves the best possable chance. At the end of the day we stll have to play 46 games and pick up the points
Well he speaks the same lingo as the majority of football players then, no wonder we're building a good squad. And managers don't bankrupt clubs, you inbred simpleton.
Thanks for your concern but, think have enough to worry about with your own club, so may be best that you concentrate on them!
