Can I add a different perspective to this, that you lot have not put your collective minds too. Chris Ramsey is seriously cute....especially when he smiles...I expect it is because he hasn't got the weight of the world on his shoulder...but the place lit up when he spoke on the BBC last night. Such a refreshing change Eye candy and three away points, what more could a girl want!!!!
Outrageous! Objectifying our caretaker manager in such a way...next you'll be wanting the return of short shorts or our away shirt to just be "skins" (i.e. topless for those not familiar with park football terminology).. That Les Ferdinand has aged well though hasn't he....Mrs Badger reckons that some women might fancy him...I'll see what she says about CR..
Don't think 2 games is the right basis to make an informed decision, I'd have no problem if TF said you've got to the end of the season & if you keep us up the jobs yours.
Two games is certainly enough time for me to "objectifying our caretaker manager in such a way.." All Ramsey can do is get the team playing as well as he can...and sees what happens...It is a win-win situation for everyone. If he makes a success he may keep the job, r be kept on...or if he is let go in a clean sweep...he will be hot property to another team. TF has said his ideal manager will take time... Just keep preparing the team like you did last night and we will all be happy
The Players and staff seem to want him to stay... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...R-players-and-staff-want-Chris-Ramsey-as-boss
There were doubts after Saturday and an overwhelming shout in favour now. That suggests a few things:- 1) If we can't be consistent then we can't expect TF to throw himself at this - we know we'd give him stick if he did. 2) Within a week Ramsey has managed to turn us from a side that looked like we couldn't buy a win into a team that is at least able to compete. Being competitive in our remaining matches at least gives us a real chance of survival. 3) We potentially do have a decent side and the right manager should be able to make the most of it. For me, there are a few question marks surrounding Ramsey. They're not negatives but we just don't know as yet. For example, how wold he deal with player dissention (ie if a senior pro stood up to him)? He seems to tick all the other boxes though - works with youngster, motivates the team (VERY apparent yesterday) and seems to already be invested in the club. Plus (significantly compared to say Sherwood) is his dignified and understated handling of the media - he seemed to give an even opinion yesterday and perhaps we could end up with someone that the press don't think is a tabloid-selling darling. Might even get boring for the news-hounds! Whatever, I think Tony should take his time and that definitely should include not committing to another manager just yet - we may just have a gem under our very noses - a relative unknown, already used to the club and can show he can do the job for us - that should by TF's dream manager.
Certainly gets my vote...............ticks all the boxes, knows the club inside out and if I'm honest I am truely sick to the back teeth of all these "footballing elites" who make up the merry-go-round of "faces" ruining clubs like ours, taking the money without taking the responsibility. It is time for a change ............and not just in football ( but that's another story!) Peace.
He's not a big name, he knows the club well, the players seem to like him and they have responded well to him. We won away. He deserves at least until the end of the season to show what he can do.
