Folks BBC Radio Lancs have just reported on an interesting piece about the imminant signing about to happen at Sunderland..What is being reported makes quite interesting reading. By all accounts when we first went in with the bid for the three United lads.Gisbon was the most keen to come and by apparantly instructed his agent to complete the deal within the pay demand Parameters the player was asking for.According to Radio Lancs his agent charged in to Sunderland demanding 40,000 grand a week and by all accounts was swiftly told to stick it (though not literally in those words you understand !) Anyway the other two United lads are on the brink of signing and Gibson allegedly unaware of what his agent was asking (which seems awee bit strange) has been left on the side line in the wake of the imminant Vaughan signing. Gibson is said to be furious at the stance taken by his agent which has clearly jepordised his move. in many ways folks, putting this issue to one side Im glad our club are now not allowing themselves to be bullied and railroaded by crazy demands, which makes this mackem very happy
Do not believe for one moment that he never knew what his agent was asking for.... Surely they must talk about these things..
Well that's a strange one eh? Why doesn't he sack the greedy **** & make his name public so other players will avoid the **** like the plague. Report the twat to the FA as well.
commachio...dont shoot the messanger mate, even I thought that was odd and state it in my post..but what ive posted is what Radio Lancs have reported
If it is true, it's a strange scenario, agents are devious bastards, but if a deal is not happening, i'm hoping players ask why. Gibson will be furious, if this has happened, but it was well documented, that the deal was being delayed through financial matters. End of the day, He's missed his chance, and hopefully the agent will be sacked. Good that the club told them to Go forth and multiply.
It wouldn't surprise me if he still comes? If he does we will have to offload so who do you think will be going, Stead maybe??
If true we must have been paying some incredible wages under Keane. The likes of McCartney/Healy really proved how important it is to have a manager/scouting system with an eye for a player. I'm by no way a big Brucie fan but I hope he proves all his doubters wrong as he seems to be building a decent squad with a nice mixture of work horses/quality and experience/youth.
Interesting read. Tough ****, if he was that keen to come he should have asked his agent square on what the delay was. Yet more proof that our club is in safe hands and ran superbly from top to bottom.
This story wouldnt suprise me in the slightest although I have to say I dont believe for one moment the player didnt know what was happening. Players & agents have for too long been screwing football and their arrogance nows no bounds. However, with the changing face of football finances these days, their power is waining somewhat. Only the agents of the top stars can still command big money and the rest are going to have to be told to **** right off (absolutely in those terms IMO). Players and agents that is. Gibsons only other outlet looks like the craas or a newly promoted club that could well go straight back down. If he misses the boat through trying to be a greedy bastard, then tough ****e on him. With Vaughan now on board, I'd move on now anyway.
